The problem is this post-Moses trend in treating the "community" as if it's monolithic and knows more about transportation planning than the experts. We as a society can say "more transit good, road expansion bad" and ask locals to weigh in on where staircases go, not "should this even happen?"

"the war situation has not necessarily turned in my favor. Moreover, the general trends of the world have not been advantageous to us."
Also would say the same stuff about unions
like Matt Walsh and the average Restore Britain guy are absolutely convinced the US and UK are plagued by crime... and no?
Every single millennial and Gen Z Republican politician you will ever see in office will be like this or worse.
I walk out of an office supply store, I'm wearing the whole 15-count value pack of lanyards, CEOs and Cabinet Secretaries kneel before me.
NZ killed all farm subsidies and it only improved their agricultural industry, farm ownership and productivity. Lowered the suicide rate (after a small spike) iirc too.
Like maaaaaaybe we should encourage growing climate appropriate crops by charging normal water rates. That water intensive crop isn't profitable in an area with a water shortage? Grow something better suited to the environment.
Toyota give us the Hilux Champ / Tamaraw!
I think about this with the judiciary as well. I'm all for expanding the Court but even after court reform it could take decades to reimagine the jurisprudence of the Roberts Court on a lot of key issues, and it will take a bold vision and strategic litigation to do so.
the thing i hate most about AI image gen is that no one does crude photoshops anymore, a tradition i will continue until the day i die

Incredible movie potential though
Any US settlement or resolution of the conflict that enables Iran to control traffic through the Strait of Hormuz would represent a major US defeat and set a precedent with critical implications for global trade, given the strait’s role as a critical energy chokepoint.

My point is that if you want control, don't sell chunks of the company to people.
Just have a private company at that point, no?
Is Louis Mosley a fascist too?
What the fuck
Yes there's a reason I'm a bigger fan of Truman's policies than FDR's.
Different kind of republican though!
I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this, just kind of vibing.
The classical US Northeastern Establishment Class congealing as a socio-economic class as a result of the Civil War may have had something to do with its durability.
The Gospel of Wealth was written first in the Union's firey rows of steel.
It's increasingly clear these Silicon Valley types don't seem to have the constitution or comprehension to steward the wealth and power that they have amassed. It would seem to me that having the rich and powerful be pro-social, broadly educated, and morally indoctrinated would be useful.
People like fun hats! If we treat the civil service like a uniformed service maybe people will be less weird about it.
