I never got hyped for recently released games, I was always years out of date since I was a kid, it's a normal state for me

remembering the absolute hell this sub-mission is
I failed at level 12 with two people left to pick up
I may not actually have the patience to do it again lol

I looked into the Pragmata "drama" for like 10 minutes and
nope nope nope that's enough of that
I'm going back to being blissfully ignorant of modern gaming news unless it's Linux/FOSS related

A simply drawn game controller that's decaying on one side, eroding away as if into the sea, while on the other side a ring of golden stars encircles it. The European stars. It's an image for Stop Killing Games and its day in European Parliament.

'A real concern for millions and probably hundreds of millions of European citizens' - Stop Killing Games has its day in European Parliament and it seems to go very well www.eurogamer.net/stop-killing...

"Have you considered this is weird?"

Yes. Have you considered we wouldn't form a religion around a guy who didn't do something weird?

Another thing worth noting is mana potions (vendors didn't stock those until 1.10). I've only seen a couple drop, and if I was playing Sorceress or Necromancer, refilling mana would be quite a problem to deal with. I'm curious if pumping Warmth early on is a viable strategy for the Sorceress.

continuing my 1.05b observations - I'm up to the Dark Wood, and more valuable items are starting to drop, though the rate is still significantly less than you'd see in later patches. I pretty much sell everything that's not cracked/damaged, which has resulted in having ~5k in the bank. Having fun.

(obviously there are nuances here - the Lutheran position as expressed in parts of The Book of Concord can be seen as "subjecting" Christianity to any existing political authority in order to please the Princes, not so much a principled stand, but this position evolved throughout the 16th-17th c.)

This is one of those unexpected historical paths that have, over time, pushed me to read Lutheran texts... The classic Lutheran position that there must be a clear, unambiguous separation between the political state and the Christian Gospel is, nowadays, most strongly the position held by the Left.

"Thus there is no peculiarly β€œChristian” form of state–the supposition that there is Melanchthon rejects as revolutionary radicalism."

How the turns table... Melanchthon didn't realize that we'd need revolutionary radicalism to fight against the people who want their "Christian" form of the state.

With the civil life here in view, the gospel does not conflict at all: β€œ[I]f anyone takes away from the Gospel any law on civic life that conflicts with philosophy or the laws of the emperors, he should immediately be despised.”[32] The gospel, on the other hand, is not a new law (pace Aquinas),[33] or a law at all. As Melanchthon says, β€œThe Gospel is not a philosophy or a law, but it is the forgiveness of sins and the promise of reconciliation and eternal life for the sake of Christ, and human reason by itself cannot apprehend any of these things.”[34] That is a crucial point: β€œhuman reason by itself cannot apprehend any of these things”; it is that point that Melanchthon above all desires to protect. There is a distinction between divine righteousness and civil righteousness that must ever be observed.[35] Civil righteousness is for Melancthon a great good; it is also one that has nothing whatsoever to do with justification before God. As long as this is kept clear, philosophy can and must be employed.

Reason Diabolical, Reason Divine: Melanchthon on Philosophy, Humanism and Scripture - The Davenant Institute This article appeared in Volume II, Issue 4 of Ad Fontes. Introduction I begin with a quotation. I have used it in print before, but it provides such a high value of entertainment that I cannot forego...

Reading this article - it's a good historical text on Protestantism's relationship with philosophy, viewed through Melanchthon who wrote extensively about this issue

The narrative is he had absolute power and was ruthless. But actually looking at historical documents is wild, because he failed to pass so many laws he fought for--including opening elections to nonparty members. People talked shit to him publicly without consequence. Etc.. We learn a false history

A revolutionary figure has to be a militant figure. Not every socialist or communist podcaster you listen to is that kinda figure. Having that militancy is waaaaay more important than having an existing popular platform.

Let them cook ...let them do propaganda and educate/agitate the masses. They don't need to lead the vanguard to be extremely valuable. Everyone has a role to play. Most people just ain't a wordsmith, a good debater or know every talking point well enough to counter them.

Take Hasan Piker, as an example. Dude doesn't have revolutionary potential (in my opinion), but boy is he gifted at making Leftist (socialist and communist) propaganda. Hasan is fulfilling his proper role already and knows it. The same goes for the guys at the Deprogram podcast.

People often forget that not all the popular Leftist (socialist and communist) content creators they listen to has revolutionary potential. Helping with raising the class consciousness of the working class requires everyone playing their role.

America is really like β€œnobody gets to hold the world economy hostage but us.”

Extremely unrealistic to expect an international coalition to break the US blockade of Hormuz. Actual WWIII becomes a real possibility at that point.

But this rogue state needs to be stopped.
