I remember WH Smiths and Boots selling records, the eighties was a great time to be getting interested in music - I’m pretty sure I got the Plasmatics’ Butcher Baby from a high street store rather than a record shop!
Three more credits that caught my imagination #Swans Cop that has two credits for “tapes”, #CabaretVoltaire Red Mecca with a credit for “tape recorder”, and #EinsturzendeNeubauten with #LydiaLunch and #Rowland with a credit for “fleisch” (meat).
l always love credits for “tapes” on covers, today I pulled this album out, which I’ve owned for more than 4 decades, love these: “hollow metal object” “switching off the studio”. Reading these (& other) liner notes changed the way I thought about sound as a teenager. #mute #einsturzendeneubauten
