The word Zionism needs to be reclaimed, from both anti-Palestinian right wingers and from so-called progressive antisemites.

We're very polite and like to celebrate everyone. Of course the Israeli/Palestinian conflict had to go and ruin it for everyone.

For example. Though they recently voted to stop these flag raisings, I believe.
If you refuse to believe my sincerity then there's no point in this argument. Cheers.
Now who's not understanding basic words?
I'm just trying to understand what you believe should happen to people who are colonialists carrying out a colonial project in a place that is not their ancestral land, that included displacement and genocide of an indigenous people. If the answer is stay where they are and pay reparations, great.
Do the zionists themselves, the people who came to Palestine to build a community and a country, they're fine? They were not colonialists? Whose colonialist project was it then?
Maybe I don't understand what it means to refer to a group as a colonial project of displacement and genocide. I thought that implies they should not be where they are, but I'm happy to stand corrected.
Absolutely. If this is what you believe, why did you attack me when I said basically the same thing?
Wait wait, is this real? Please please say it's a team movie
When did I say that? Are you just suggesting that everyone stay where they are and we form a single state shared by everyone? (I'm not rejecting this as a solution, in just trying to understand what you're suggesting is the right solution)
Finally, I used the term "national home" because I too am not a fan of ethnostates or nation-states, and would prefer a bi-national state that protects the rights and identities of both people. That said, I think getting there will have to go through a two (ethno) states solution first.
It is, it's not, and while I'm not denying the horrific actions of the nakba, the way to rectify today is not the genocide and displacement of the Jewish people in Israel.
Are you also fighting against all the other ethnostates that are oppressing their minorities? Why not?
Why is denying the right of Jews to have a national home in their ancestral land not antisemitism? You can oppose Israeli policies and actions - I do - but opposing the very theoretical existance of a state for the Jewish nation... Yeah, that's antisemitism.
Dinosaurs are technically reptile in the same way that birds are technically reptiles.
I'm going to respectfully ignore you calling a t-rex a reptile.
What about that t-rex they worked for?
(this is genuinely one of the stupidest discussions I ever participated in, and I'm all in)
Are they drawn to evil or to power?
It's quite simple, those people don't actually want a prosperous shared single state. They want the jews out of the region. It's the same stupid mentality as those israeli right wingers who believe if they fight long enough, the Palestinians will leave.
I often get the sense that American leftists write off joint Israeli-Palestinian activism as naive kumbaya shit but whenever I read something like this I am blown away by the strength of people who have endured the worst losses possible and yet still show up with compassion for the “enemy”
Proud to be a Canadian
It's interesting that the phrase is "man and wife" and not "husband and wife". Accidentally egalitarian.
Sure, but unlike isha and reaya, ben/bat zug does not connote marriage.
The less-frequently used Hebrew term for wife is re'aya (רעיה), which comes from the root for "friend", so basically it literally translates into girlfriend.
מקלחת אני דווקא יכול להבין - לפחות זה משהו ששולטים בו. שירותים לא.
Yeah, I didn't think it would be balls, for sure, but I have to say butt surprises me too.
Waiting to hear from straight women if they have the equivalent of breasts for straight men. Honestly curious.
Or the stromg support for hamas in Gaza as justification for Israel's indiscriminate killing there.
