BBC headline that reads:
Health visitors call for limits on 'impossible' 1,000-family caseloads
In this context, what sense would it make to talk about workforce wellbeing & nurturing relationships? Can you imagine unrushed conversations wth families? Could you imagine colleagues pausing for regular reflective practice?
This context is stark.
You can't 'culture change' your way out of this.

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.
Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform

Me neither. I was just talking with some students about the commodification of trauma therapy, often centred around the 'big names' in the field. They peddle protocols, missing the human interactions that make a more human and person centred relationship.

It would be highly ironic if councils in this region, which is a part of the UK most seriously threatened by climate change, end up being controlled by a party that denies it is happening.
If you don't want this absurd outcome, get out and vote to prevent it.

He's not wrong. PR won't solve everything but it feels like a prerequisite to reversing the total lack of power people feel.

Oh, and switching to 21st Century technologies, rather than continually extending the long fossil century, also improves people's lives, creates jobs and helps prevent climate breakdown. But who gives a damn about such details?

I don't know why this is so hard for some people to grasp. If we extend our use of fossil gas, rather than going all-out for grid batteries, heat pumps and induction hobs, we extend our dependence on *foreign* sources of gas, regardless of whether we also use the UK's last remaining reserves. 🧵

To all those men asking why these women didn’t file police reports, I direct you to the Epstein files as an example. Despite police reports, in some cases depositions under oath and NO justice has been dispensed from a court of law. The women are re-traumatized and the men are free.

This book, received last week, is achingly touching. Connects to stories, to the sense of place, identity and belonging that I've explored in my own work on trauma, in writing and my life. I'll be showing some of these images to students. I love the device of repetition, like this photo.Thank you.

A dirt road curves by a large bare tree in the wetlands. There is water on the left and hills in the background.
“The truth is: the natural world is changing. And we are totally dependent on that world. It provides our food, water, and air. It is the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it.”

I am not sure why Melania Trump decided to make a statement about Jeffrey Epstein seemingly out of nowhere today, but if the idea was to put the ongoing coverup in the rearview mirror it will backfire spectacularly
