My feelings about the Strokes at Coachella are complicated. On one hand, it’s good to share images w/ a receptive, maybe unaware of USA foreign policy history, crowd.

On the other hand, when my band opened for them 26 years ago, the Strokes didn’t even put our name on the flyer.

Just saw that Shiran Kaïdine has died. Awful news. A wonderful musician, from his epic Year of No Light to the doooom of Monarch. All the way to his brilliantly vibrant and expressive d-beat band, Faucheuse, whose recent LP has been one of this year’s best.
