🚨 Tonight, ITV, 8.30pm 🚨

Don't miss @danielhewittitv.bsky.social's investigation into the underfunding crisis in UK palliative care. With MPs debating assisted dying, this just couldn't be more important.

Thank you @itvx.bsky.social for inviting me to contribute.

Really pleased to say I am
presenting an ITV programme on hospice and end of life care.

Since my mum received hospice care a decade ago I’ve been investigating the state of the sector and its lack of funding.

Keeping Care Alive: Hospices in Crisis? will air on ITV, 8:30pm, Thursday 28th November

Really enjoyable 2 days at the #NIHRAMC24 conference - especially the Lego building! Lots to think about re: impact from beginning to end.

A harrowing read. Supporters of AD wish to minimise suffering at the end of life, but there is so little data on the experience of patients who have chosen AD that the risk of inflicting further harm, pain, and distress is huge. We simply don’t know enough to pass this bill.

The uncomfortable truth about assisted dying Throughout all the questions, there is a baseline assumption that assisted dying will likely mean a smoother and calmer death. But does it?

Why I think that an assisted dying law, as proposed in the Leadbeatter Bill, is not based on an evidence base and could go profoundly wrong
