Probably going to wait until my current paradise tama goes to the stars so I’m not running two simultaneously…and start it on the weekend so I don’t have the uber needy baby stage at work…
You better be worth it, Mametchi/ Kuchipatchi.
A Tamagotchi rerelease Gen 1. This is the checkered background original shape tama. The shell is a glittery purple with a checkered picnic blanket and different hard candies design.
I have absolutely loved playing my Tamagotchi Paradise since getting it. It’s cute, and relaxing, and very low on the needy scale once you clear the baby stage.
So someone please tell me why I decided to ‘challenge’ myself with This Little Shit?
(It’s bcs Mametchi and Kuchipatchi are options.)

We then thoroughly enjoyed the first ep of BoBF, with me adding a little bit of back story for the sand worm, etc.
I’m genuinely delighted that my ‘I don’t like sci-fi’ dad is so keen to watch these shows. But I suspect it’s in great part bcs of how they’re essentially (space) Westerns.
Bless TeaDad. We discovered mid-season 3 ep 1 of Mandalorian that we actually needed to watch Book of Boba Fett, first. But I’ve had 2/3 of a Dead Frog London Fog winter ale, and may have gone on a tear abt The Acolyte, and how unfair it was it didn’t get a Ssn 2. And TeaDad just listened patiently.

This one time?
I was a big red dog and everyone acted like it was normal that I was a kaiju.
…I’m gonna be the lone voice in the wilderness on this one, but after looking up the trailer, I’m hoping this survives long enough to come to console. It looks fun!

I need to figure out how to record off radio now. 😭
…the vocal performance. It’s a difficult-to-sound-natural awkward-quirky singing and speaking script, and the voice actor NAILS it. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during recording for it.
There’s a radio commercial currently running in BC that makes me want to rage blog about how much I detest it (but the fact that I remember the company’s name definitely means it’s working).
Seriously, I am so fcking tempted. Bcs I hate with a burning fiery passion everything about it, except…

That’s probably why. It’ll be interesting to see the difference when you get the second round up and running!
I didn’t know caterpillars enjoyed lavender! I’ve always been told to plant it to keep them away. 😅 Good to know!

Not sure if it’s a ‘good’ example but Matthew Martineau alleged his 2013-2014 stories were used for Bungie’s Destiny 2’s Red War plot. He went on to claim the Curse of Osiris DLC, and some of the game’s lore books also had lifted content. Bungie eventually settled.

Ever talk too long to people in your work space, that you run out of spoons and juice and the will to be upright all before you hit the halfway mark of your day?
Hearing how many kids were turning their moms into tama grandmas was the reason they were banned in our house! 😆 I feel like there could be a documentary around the added emotional labor moms endured on top of everything during the late 90s.
I’d tend to throw Tamagotchi into the ring as a category of ‘mom’ game, ESPECIALLY the needier original Gen 1 & 2, and Connection. (I might exclude Paradise, though, because even though you take care of your tamas, it’s made clear in some game screens you’re a scientist observing them.)
I'll be speaking at this 2 day animation event in May in LA. Learn about animation from concept to distribution with legends: John Musker, Ron Clements, Pam Coats, Peter Ramsey, & many more. I'll be speaking about sound (of course). Hope to see you there!
