I have always been the kind of developer who only cared about outcomes. Give me the tool, the framework, the head start. I just want my website.
A totally different kind of developer exists who cares about the *craft*. Getting that function just right. Those devs are in pain right now.

love vibe coding my own neovim plugins right now :)
why is siri suggesting events that are already in my calendar -.-
Always hyped when mistral drops something!
I can't figure out how to use Snacks.rename with lsp and vtsls / ts_ls and any explorer... If any fellow neovimmer knows let me know what I am doing wrong...

As a Frontend Engineer, where is my place now? Where is it soon? I don’t know. I might just start painting fulltime
Hate it
I don’t care if it’s cringe,
I‘ll always say lol.
I’m 36 now.
Will also say it when I’m 70.
lol.
should i lean full on design? Should I lean more in highly interactive, 3d animated super fancy stuff?I love coding, I love building things that have a great UX and work great, not just barely good enough slop.
I know design and have a good eye for it but never really worked in a full ui or ux design role. So I’m not really a master in design systems etc.
Do you have the same feeling? Do you just vibe code interfaces now? What is the benefit of being a visual and design oriented person with great coding abilities?
I need to figure out what to do and position myself, learn new skills that are future proof. I’m mostly in React and React Native world and very good at it.
I’m a Frontend Engineer for 12 years now, started freelancing full-time 2 years ago.
How do you guys cope with the feeling that Frontend dev jobs will be gone soon? With Claude Code etc I get the feeling that clients or fellow programmers think that frontend is basically dead.
yes something like that
the reddit search is auto correcting my search... i cannot search for bluloco anymore, it reverts to blueloco. i need to go into the url and change it there. wtf.
Everybody is on Claude Code but I really like Mistral on Opencode
just added a PR for opencode bluloco theme, hope they merge soon :)
github.com/anomalyco/op...
meanwhile you can use it as a *custom theme* from here:

i love how there is no additional fluff being added :)
ahdh friendly coffee maker
french press yes
moka pot no
too many wtfs per minute
we need a safe for human made data before everything turns into slop.
Is there still place for a creative developer
Are hackathons still a thing now?
the beast in me is a good show
But still, I can't get rid of that feeling of emptiness.
I miss the times where I got hyperfocused with a new technology and programming day and night, figuring things out. How do you deal with this?
My whole essence was basically staying up to date with new features of the languages and frameworks I was working with. But is this worth anything now?
I know it is not true, and it is still super helpful to know how things are supposed to work and how everything connects.
i don't know if you are having the same experience but I became a programmer because I liked figuring stuff out. reading documentation and fiddling around was such an essential part of this. but now it feels kind of pointless. I have the constant feeling I could do more important things.
ai is like a slot machine but for slop. a slop machine. ok bye.
