Crying over spilled bourbon How Trump’s tariffs are upending a Kentucky industry and, potentially, the midterms.

As the “Bourbon Lady” in my race, I was honored to share my views on the reality of one of Kentucky’s most signature industries and why it matters not just here in Kentucky, but what it means about being an American.

I had my 20 year high school reunion yesterday & found this in a yearbook. I’ve been fighting this fight for a long time for Kentucky & I’m not about to stop. The South has been left behind due to broken promises & backroom deals. I want to rebuild the American South into a prosperous place.

Today is my birthday.

And I am spending it talking to voters.

Help flip a red congressional seat blue, by donating $38 for my 38th bday to my campaign today. It goes a long way and helping me reach voters.

We have Native Americans to thank for the cultivation of corn. 🌽

Corn is the main grain in bourbon. 🥃

So when you go to pour yourself a glass of bourbon whiskey, thank a Native American for making that entire legacy possible.

Their impact is deeper than you know. Take a moment to learn.

I’m sure the SBA of Portland has a lot to say about this.

Precisely! And that’s why we cannot look so inwardly because how we engage with the globe broadly and our foreign allies (and enemies) impacts the entire supply chain, economic system, agriculture, and beyond.

I couldn’t agree with this more. Foreign policy has deep impacts on everyday people. From supporting our farmers to making energy more affordable, foreign policy can make or break lives right here at home.

Government shutdown begins as Blue Grass airport operations continue normally The federal government shutdown is having minimal immediate impact on Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, where flights continue departing on schedule and TSA security checkpoints remain operational.

Spoke to LEX18 on Day 1 of the shutdown. I’m incredibly thankful to all the TSA agents at LEX for showing up even though your pay is delayed & we don’t know when paychecks will come.

Essential workers aren’t chips to be gambled with but the backbone of this country.

“Change happens by listening and then starting a dialogue with the people who are doing something you don’t believe is right.” - Jane Goodall

And that is how my mother turned from a 3 time Trump voter to a registered Democrat.

We listen. We learn. We talk. We teach. We evolve.
