there's also Tolkien zine cover from around the same time which makes me cackle, because this zine was edited by one of this special brand of conservative Tolkien fans who really really liked my art and really really hated its (and mine) queerness. even his zine wasn't safe from us, ha

(to the point that every time I'm in low spot financially I look to my (signed by most of co-conspirators) copies and think if it's time. but nooo these are my earliest publications, I'm not parting with them (not counting kid's magazine cover when I was 8, lol)
this reminded be about two volumes of Tolkien fanworks that were produced (as physical books) in... second half of 2000s? and my fanarts are in both, still underd deadname, lol. these are rather sought after among collectors these days
I deleted some art, but mostly because I decided that they werent contributing to the body of my work as a whole
I deleted mine, but only because of russia, otherwise it would still be out there (I exported it to dw at some point but I used to post a lot of photos and I wasn't about to replace years and years worth of broken photobucket links so I cleaned most iif it)
my dA turns twenty in like a week and there are still old ass artworks there I never posted later, it's like my documentation (I don't update dA anymore but this old art is why I havent deleted/hidden my entire gallery there. I have to make some decisions about it but it's hard)
yea, same. I do share art in private with friends before I show it! it's very different thing!
the entire purpose of art is communication, and if I'm not making art, I quickly become very unhappy. all my artblock/fallow periods were caused by various unpleasant things, and I'm not doing this to myself willingly
oh, same, I can hold on to my art for few weeks or even longer if it's one thing, I did it few times in the past for publications, but without sharing my work I will crumble
it's less common then transforming god ot thunder into a vegetable, but it happens, tho before I had to see "popplagio" with my own eyes, it never occured to me that people might interpret it like that.
at least Þ-P confusion is funny from polish standpoint because leeks show up in norse mythology
still better then people who replace ð with o (or ó) in icelandic. like I get that lowercase ð looks a bit confusing if it's someone's first encounter, but out of all people, sigur rós fans should know better, sigh
There is only Eastern Europe. You can run from it, you can deny it, but it is how they will ultimately regard you if you move to London, Paris or Barcelona. Better embrace it.
technically, they can both come in chocolate. but first one is considerably better that way then the other
<confused in polish> the kind that is yeasted bundt cake, or the kind that's good for treating minor wounds (plantago major/lancelota)?
and I needed something to wear always in my extra piercings because on occasions I put on antique hoops (kuchi/amazigh/mauretanian and such) so I want to piercings to be used to it. I'm not interested in tunnels, but my piercings are no longer considered western size, lol
I have three lobe piercings in left ear and two (one defunct) in right. I wouldn't mind helix tbh
(my secred dream since I was like 14 is bodymod that make ears slighty pointy but this thing loves to get messy when healing so I'm still on a fence, buuuut. lotr elf ears!)
fingers crossed!
there's piercing/tattoo studio right next to my building, so I should check them, out.
I'm also tempted to move beyond lobe piercings, but after outer ear canal infection I had some years ago everything on my ears heals slower then before and it makes me hesitate a little, sigh
I do love my clicker rings! the only issue is that sometimes I snatch on them with a comb and they open and I had to fish for them in my hair or look for them on a floor, but it's not often, and when they're closed, they have no pointy ends so I can forget about them
one of my older piercing closed up (all my piercings are from 90s made with scary device, never had problems with them due to sheer luck, but few years ago I poked in wrong direction when putting an earring on and when it healed, it took the opening with it, lol), I need to do something about it
I had a huge problem with daily earrings in my not-main piercings because studs poke my head when I sleep, until I got my ass to piercer shop and got stainless steel rings that close with a click, I love them. I should actually get new ones in thicker gauge soon
yea, it's... not good (my pimple in the ear decided to do second coming last week, thankfully this time healed fast but gods. the worst place for a pimple)
some years ago I got few infected follicles right above my elbow and I couldnt stop messing them up until I got armwarmer to wear at home
ohnooo
....I might have a scratch on the top of my head that I keep reopening because it's in such convenient place, I hate it
I also finally found a desk lamp! I was looking for it for months, and ended up settling for polish design from 70s. large shade, smallish base, switch on the base, normal (not kids) height, durable materials, and good look, all for reasonable price, impossible in modern ones, apparently.
the wall is fixed. weekend is for seeing labyrinth on a big screen on timeless film festival and for painting not on a wall but on paper, on monday I'm picking up bags from repairshop, and then I'll move things to he bedroom so I have workspace ready for tuesday, finally
Right. So... I bristle at the way people talk about other planets, as though they're worthless hunks of rock made for the taking, because they don't have life on them. As though having life is the only thing that could make a 5 billion year old world valuable. In fact, 1/-
If we just bring out colonial and capitalistic commodification mindsets into space, a desire to make everything like us or to extract value out of everything; then we will just replicate our same issues in space and space will not be the driver of human growth we see it inherently as.
I’m not arguing against living on other planets; I’m talking about the colonial mindset we bring to space. We’ve only l viewed space through a colonial lens. But we view it not a thing to take or erase but through a lens similar to indigenous ppl for exp; land that we are a guest on & part of.
actual painting will probably be happening next week (if plaster repair go as planned) because I have Plans for weekend (Labyrinth in cinema! and my brother's birthday dinner). I can;t wait for it to be done
I plan to do some decluttering of my kitchen cabinets (I own way too much tableware and some I never use so I need to rehome it), and since plants didnt want to live on a shelf over my bedroom door, I put my lovely grandma's stoneware pitchers there so they're finally on display
