why does pete hegseth hate george washington
was asked how long I think I could survive in Raccoon City and the answer is you'd have dropped me in Silent Hill instead
to my surprise, I like ketchup as an adult and found it way too sweet as a kid.
normally with aged-based neurological development it would have gone the other way (kids need high intensity b/c their ability to detect flavors is underdeveloped)
is the robot an ex astronaut? does it do slo-mo kung fu against international arms dealers?
cannot handle the headlines about the robot going faster than humans
I have a car, it is in my driveway *right now*
i have been near or inside of many machines even faster than car
it's like inventing food.
no, we had that already. we had food.
if you've worried about the realism of your creature design, may I present: ambulatory blue stick with little red petals
maybe it is enough fries to build a log cabin the burger can live in
Ultimately I come down in a Harrison Bergeron place with this, where overall I'm a champion of equality, but there's a point where I'd rather be able to enjoy beauty even if it's unequal
big/unusual lags in Dragon speech recognition as well
I don't know but I can confirm that everything's been weird. My computer stopped recognizing its own soundcard for a while, and Microsoft Word believes I am offline although I'm online.
I know people complain about money a lot, but as a technology, it's wonderful to have a universal medium of exchange and store of value.
I overheard a neighbor explain this as "voting isn't like getting married. It's like taking the bus. You aren't choosing a life partner. You're picking the fastest route that will get you closest to where you want to go."
Cool Hand Luke
In protest, I’m going to start skeeting Redwall-inspired descriptions of bird meals:
Today, near Lough Neagh: A small feast. Pine needle encrusted hare, dragonfly wings with gorse leaves, smoked bacon chip crumbs on algae.
I'm a fan of pretty much all dumplings, cross culturally
So far, I've never regretted buying a book by S.A. Chakraborty and am pretty much a completist.
I also like Louise Erdrich a lot but I haven't read everything; she's written a lot of books.
They're doing the same thing in Boston. $95 round trip for a bus out to the stadium (it was $80 if you bought early). It's usually $20 round trip, and is usually a train.
A pair of suede split-toe derbies. One shoe is turned over, so you can see the underside. The sole features the outline of a small cat.
A black and white cat.
Just remembered I have a pair of shoes with a cat "monogram." The shoes were made in Romania and they gave me the option of adding a monogram. I asked if they could do my cat instead. The design was made by nailing small tacks — same ones to make the heel — at the shoe's waist.
that grendel ain’t right
Nice!
I now realize there are MANY cereals to which I could add raisins. New breakfast vistas emerge, rolling toward an infinite horizon.
hella decadent (said with approval)
although I remember the book being pitched as Teen (and encountered it as a young teen) my main memory was the emotional experience of the adults, who understood how much danger the kids were in and were terrified, who simultaneously had to project trust and confidence in all their communications.
science fiction book which impressed me which I've never seen mentioned is Calling B for Butterfly by Louise Lawrence (1982).
Colony ship hits an asteroid. Only survivors are four teenagers, toddler, baby. Mission control tries to coach them via radio through landing spaceship plus caring for baby.
Poster for Doris Wishman’s Nude on the Moon.
So far haven’t seen any nudes in the photos from the moon trip why are they covering up the truth
Your reasoning is impeccable. I love PBJ (not on the list) but I love it partly for its unassuming lack of glory. Try to make it glorious and you ruin it.
A friend made a christmas mix CD that includes this (the Nick Drake original). I listen to it every year at Christmas. Very special.

I want to eat this so much. Lovely.
