It’s an amazing community of incredibly smart kind people. There have been IRL meetups, postcard exchanges, and we have definitely gotten assistance from them on stories. Having the good fortune of helping foster such a good community makes me feel I’m on the right track.
@hyperfixedpod.bsky.social is completely independent, and we exist entirely off of ads and listener support. In return, premium members get merch discounts, bonus episodes, and we all kinda hang together in discord, watch movies, play jackbox, etc.
As it stands, everyone on staff myself included currently make the same amount, which is, to be candid, not a lot. I am lucky enough to have producers working on this show that believe in what we’re making and are working for much less than they’re worth.
My goal for 2026 is to pick up 1500 premium subscribers, for @hyperfixedpod.bsky.social so that I can both give the staff raises and provide health care, neither of which are currently possible. So far, things are going well! We’ve picked up 150 in the past month, which puts us @ 1350 to go.
