I got someone's tarantula killed once.. Not on purpose. But I really shouldn't have been made the caretaker in the first place. Also I could have said no.. So when her water dish got empty, I was too scared to open the container so I could refill it. Then one day I found her on a death curl.

I've had arachnophobia for a long time. I've been desensitizing myself by watching Exotics Lair on YT. He's got many tarantulas. Years ago I even went to a spider exhibition. I can stare at the biggest spiders no problem when they can't get to me but then I freeze when a tiny spider is on my bed.

I've been thinking about our second dog a lot lately. Like I said before, on Mother's Day I almost called out to him. And when my mom visited me last weekend, I was seconds away from asking her "How is Aku doing?" We lost Pete in 2012 but I still think about him often, too. I miss my boys so much.

It's Mother's Day so I went to see my parents. We were watching tv. On a commercial break I almost called out to our dog, it was some sudden instinct. And then I almost immediately remembered that "Oh.. he's not coming."
