I dunno, maybe I sound like a hag waving my fist at the sky but it would be so cool if everyone that made models for VRC learned blender.

Stop letting tools do all the work for you and earn that thing you want to make.

If you let tools do everything for you and you never work for it well...

And like, I have friends that want to troubleshoot their model and I want to test their animator for their fx but when they go to play mode suddenly they generate 5 new animators and a ton of objects on their model that only exists in that moment.

Gets really hard to see what's happening.

Like I learned to texture atlas off of good ole big man tupper before he was a dev and that's like... super cool? But more importantly it was like having a model that was your own really required work.

Maybe I'm old fashion, but I feel like you really appreciate your model more with hard work.

You want an avatar? Sweet, go download an mmd or game model or whatever and upload it. Color changes? Easy go get gimp, photoshop or whatever.

Oh you wanna change the mesh? You're gonna need blender. But that first step wasn't all THAT hard.

I feel like the community had such cohesion then.

I'm not saying I want avatar creation to be gatekept or whatever but a ton of creators really don't optimize and then send everything out as a unity package.
