As for transporting, we always tucked the birds into their own little cloth drawstring bags to carry from the nets back to the banding/ringing station!

In my experience with banding/ringing, I’ve only used the nets hung between the trees. The suet-noose method is very similar to how falconers trap birds of prey, so I would assume that it works but I’d be worried about the nooses hurting the legs of songbirds, as they’re much daintier than hawks.
