Very sad to hear that the body of South Karori resident Philip Sutton was recovered this afternoon. My condolences to his family and friends.

I am x
I am, there are a lot of people in a lot worse circumstances today. Bit unsettling eh!
You too my friend x
Well that was my first time in nearly 30 years in Wellington, getting blown to the ground by the wind! Get home if your home is safe and take care of each other fam ❤️
Take special care travelling this morning Pōneke - especially in the South - and if it’s not necessary consider staying at home. All the very best to everyone cleaning up over the next few days (more heavy rain forecast for later today)
I had SO much fun. Thank you for inviting me 🏳️🌈🐶🏳️🌈
a photo taken by Em Boyle, featuring Scotty & Mal as MCs wearing floppy dog ears, someone in a dog costume doing tricks and three judges - one of them a Drag King looking on having hysterics. There's also a banner featuring a Datacom logo and the Em Boyle watermark
Do you like dogs? If so, you should definitely check out this Facebook album from Em Boyle Photography, taken yesterday at Pooches in the Plaza as part of Out in the City. Thanks so much to @rebeccamatthews.bsky.social for being one of our judges! www.facebook.com/emboylephoto...
So awesome!
The Matthews women are off to The Beths!
Thanks to my green team @rebeccamatthews.bsky.social @geordierogers.co.nz @jonnyosborne.bsky.social Wellington City Council climate mitigation budget lives on. Thanks to all councillors who voted in support. A big mihi to our community for emailing councillors to say no cuts to climate action!
We won! Or at least budget retained and we live to fight another day 🙂
We haven’t voted yet, but we worked with the mayor on an amended substantive that retains the funding in the budget, signals we proceed with some of the cycleways identified , and that others like all capital projects over a million will get a rapid review to ensure affordability.
Very pleased to have succeeded in my amendment to restore $1.1 million to climate change response budget (with some reductions including a 500k cut to consultants spend so no rates impact).

Thanks to our pals at Wellington Museum, everyone who registers their dog in advance for Pooches in the Plaza this Sunday will receive a Paddy the Wanderer plushie
Who’s Paddy, you ask? Time to learn some very important history at the museum’s Chosen Family event on Thursday!
Proud of our decisions, and especially proud of the team who did all the mahi to make it happen. It’s so important we join up the network to enable safe, low cost and low carbon transport choices for Pōneke.
This International Women’s Day/Week, my wish is simple: no creeps in the workplace and women actually being safe at work 😡🤬
None that I saw. Just lots of happy friendly people
Something borrowed (from my daughter Thea) for the Pride Parade! Happy Pride everyone @wellingtonpride.bsky.social
Our Climate Change programmes are working! Last year Wellington city reduced emissions by 5%. Now is not the time for Climate cuts! We’ll only have to pay more later!
We’re in a climate crisis, a 40 percent cut to our climate response budget makes no sense financially or for the future of the city. Next week’s proposals include a total gutting of cycleway funding, & a backdown on commercial rates for Air B&B providers www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3609...
Lots of lovely potential for new housing in my area of Wellington City, in briefing for our new Spatial Plan. Haere mai future new neighbours, this is exciting for the future of Pōneke. Also we are now consenting more dwellings than Lower Hutt, love to see it.

Book thirteen of my Wellington City Libraries #SummerReadingAdventure You Like It Darker, short stories by Stephen King.
If I thought there was something that would warrant that I would make a complaint, but it’s more that the volume and nature of the posts give a weird vibe and make me feel really uncomfortable.
