DC Streetcar was a boondoggle from start to finish. No two ways about it. The fact that the X2/D20 bus always ran alongside it and completely duplicated it was quite telling.

Anyone know if the streetcar set a ridership record on its final day of service? I feel like there was a decent chance that it did.

Fortunately, the place that I was going to is fairly close to home, but still, that's an extra 30 minutes down the drain on account of forgetfulness.

Not one of my finer moments: got all the way out to a place where I was going to fly the drone, and discovered that I didn't have a memory card with me. So I had to go all the way back home to get it.

Yep - Vepco became Dominion Resources by way of Virginia Power. I've seen those poles around places before, and I love that the vintage name has survived in the wild. Much the same way that I love seeing vintage "Bell System" stuff from before the 1982 breakup here and there in the wild.
