2-Minute Read. ChatGPT & Generative AI. When Students Use AI in Ways They Shouldn’t, Be Curious, Not Judgmental. By Jen Roberts.
When Jen Roberts / @jen.litandtech.com talks to students who she knows have turned in AI writing as their own work, she almost always starts with the same question:
“Tell me what happened here?”

ROTATE! Now teachers using have an easy way to assign stations AND show students which station they should go to next. Special thanks to @catlintucker.com for her awesome guidance on supporting station rotation. We're excited to do more. What else would you like Grouper to do?
“Let’s be clear: research itself isn’t dead. Inquiry, analysis, and synthesis still matter. What’s obsolete is the performance of research—the idea that we can measure intellectual engagement by forcing students to produce a 10-page document that AI can generate in an instant.” #EduSkyAi #TLSky
If you’re not using Thin Slides yet… why not? Seriously. It’s the easiest way to get every student to think AND talk in under 5 minutes. Start by asking a great question. #edusky #EduProtocols

“… the educational system must adapt… because its here, students are using it, we can’t reliably detect it, and we owe it to them to prepare for a future where AI systems are ubiquitous and its use is expected in the workplace.”

This image serves as a reminder about social media sharing on Bluesky. It features a blue sky background with white clouds and a bold heading reading "REMINDER" accompanied by an exclamation mark in a red circle. The text emphasizes: Bluesky's algorithm is not based on capitalism, so it works differently. Engagement operates differently compared to other platforms. While likes are good, reposting boosts visibility. To support the community, repost content you resonate with to increase its visibility. The message is designed to encourage users to engage through reposting for greater community impact.
Just a reminder that BlueSky works a bit differently. If something resonates with you be sure to repost to let others know it is agreat idea! While likes are great, reposting highlights great ideas for the communities we are building. #TLSky #EduSky #KidLit #Skybrarian #Edtech #Education
Porto worked beautifully. My old Twitter posts were reposts from services like Zite and Feedly--those links didn't open.
Tried the "Porto" Chrome Extension and imported my Twitter archive to Bluesky (hence the 1K posts on my timeline now!). So much is outdated or the links are broken, but it was an interesting experiment nonetheless.
One of my colleagues has her students create a radio broadcast on a given topic from the era, including the content, sound effects, and an advertisement. I don't have a copy of her lesson plan, but I have helped her with the technology using Flip, but that is no longer an option.
