#Burien CM Alex Andrade who is hoping to unseat #WA33rdLD Rep Mia Gregerson is claiming that every business in Burien is already paying more than the voter approved Minimum Wage requires. They are not. This is her reasoning for continuing to oppose it over a year after it passed.
It actually doesn’t matter if the turnout is low or high. The voters have spoken. And when this has gone to the ballot in a higher turnout election the wins have been even more impressive.
She should probably have thought of that when she was in the majority.

Mamdani gets it right. You cannot call yourself a progressive and at the same time purposely stifle private housing development.
You cannot claim you are part of a welcoming blue city to those fleeing red states while saying “we’re full” because you made sure we didn’t build enough housing.
Many legislative bodies limit the number of amendments that can be submitted on the floor. Why does the Dem majority in #waleg allow the opposition party to file an unlimited number, when sessions are short? A useful tool to kill the party’s own bills they don’t actually want to pass? One wonders.
