I'm so tired of this "false sense of victimization" these weak men feel.

"Oh no, women don't worship. Women don't want me. Women are too independent. Women should be sex toys. Women shouldn't have rights."

Like fuck that. Only weak men are screaming victimization.

What are you, 15 years old and judging all the people going to parties? Grow up and accept that we have a society because a whole lot of people don’t like being stuck at home and enjoy other people.

There’s a kind of person who wasn’t just fine with COVID, but enjoyed it because it gave them the moral high ground to do stay home, which they liked, and judge others for wanting other things. We gave them a pass because it was a crisis and they were helping, but doing it now makes you an asshole.

In 2020 you'd be looked at like a lunatic if you said that socialists would be promoting a white supremacist ex-Marine who's openly professed to voting Republican his entire adult life and who bragged about committing war crimes. In 2026 those are all considered positives by socialists.

untold dozens of systems interact to keep people’s grandparents alive

folks want to fantasize about burning it down and how hard they are and everything but there’s no talk about how we’re gonna keep making insulin and refrigerating it and delivering it

“against the system” is a death cult

Until we take apart the gender system in this country, men are going to consistently side with antisocial and destructive politics in order to avoid looking like women. This means that systems and order are basically doomed to chaos until this is fixed

when i say this i want you to just trust me that i fully predicted the tea party and MAGA back in '09 to an astonishing degree of accuracy: the people who are currently glazing Piker and Platner are the future of the modern Republican Party along with groypers and open gutter racists

We gotta start describing these people as anarcho libertarian poverty tourists with leftist aesthetics.

“これは鳩ですか?” meme from series The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird. The image originates from a scene where the main character mistakenly identifies a butterfly as a pigeon in this case the main character is a leftist mistaking antisocial behavior for direct action.

A tweet from a MAGA influencer: “I miss the euphoric first few months of Trump's second term. The rapid-fire EOs dismantling woke orthodoxy. The sweet shrieking from the left. Elon and DOGE hacking off the tentacles of entrenched government waste. It felt like an autistic Camelot, and I was giddy. We were giddy.”

There it is: For a not insignificant number of people, it’s always only ever been about making people they find annoying angry. A whole movement built on resentment and vibes. Pathetic

it would be a lot easier to believe that the loud left shitposters were, y'know, acting in good faith if they didn't try to sound angry and radicool about literally everything

The internet has somehow merged the worst kind of reactionary false nostalgia for hazy memories of youth with the most cheeseburger-brained junk-food-gorging American consumerism.

And like some terrifying viral chimera, the result has turned out to be the apex predator of the attention economy.

Have said before but a lot of people want an excuse not to participate in civil society and have created a way to intellectually justify what is just rank apathy and extreme individualism

So I'm not trying to knock the gesture here, I get the sentiment. I feel for the astronaut who lost his wife as it was devastating to lose my father-in-law, who I loved very much, to glioblastoma suddenly in 2023.
But 4 astronauts deciding to name a spot on THE FUCKING MOON after ONE GUY'S WIFE while the other 8 BILLION of us down here have no input on NAMING SHIT ON THE FUCKING MOON still feels like colonizer behavior to me.
I don't care if one of them was a black dude.

Historically, colonization is the act of a state or group taking political, economic, and physical control over a foreign territory AND its people, often involving permanent settlement, resource exploitation, and subjection of indigenous populations. Since there isn't anyone already living on the moon, it cannot be colonized in this sense. Also, the astronauts only submitted the names to the IAU, which dictates the naming of celestial bodies and the features on their surfaces.

I think a useful barometer for Trump‘s fortunes is the RDI (rat directional indicator). Note how Bezos made his pro-Trump turn right before Donald won in 2024 whereas now even the dedicated right-wing talking heads are starting to falter.

Less than a week ago, there were several prominent voices on here saying that they were sure Orbán was going to cancel Hungary's election. And casting that as a preview of coming horrors here in the States.

Well, Hungary had its vote, Orbán lost in a landslide, and he's conceded.

I saw so much doomerism and doomposting yesterday that I saw barely any acknowledgement that the Democrats crushed the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, overperformed in MTG's district, and right-wing activists lost in school boards.

Doomerism does not help.

The worst thing about this is every Democratic member of Congress was loudly condemning Trump as soon as he threatened to erase the Iranian civilization, but Ro Khanna dismisses all of that by claiming Congress "barely made a whimper" while he praises two known right wing cranks by name.

yeah one thing that made me wary of being a Bernie supporter in 2020 was when everyone had a freakout over Black voters in Southern states going for Biden, it immediately didn't sit right with me and there are certain characters I've been suspicious of ever since

I am at this point convinced that “no war but class war” is a deliberate attempt by at least half of them to strip away what they think is unfair influence held by non-white voters. It’s “all lives matter” but leftishly.
