I misread this, I thought TrumpLord said
"NATO NATIONS HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP THE LUNATIC NATION" but I missed a with.

By lifting the Dublin Airport passenger cap, delaying funding for public transport that has planning permission and opening the door to commercial LNG, Minister @darraghobrientd.bsky.social's message to his constituents seems to be: prepare for much more climate chaos.

Palestine Action have WON their judicial review in the High Court!
A massive victory for free speech, freedom of association and the right to protest.
A massive defeat for the draconian attempts by Keir Starmer's government to curtail our fundamental rights.
Breaking news: The UK government’s contentious ban on Palestine Action under anti-terror laws has been ruled unlawful in a landmark legal victory for civil liberties campaigners. ft.trib.al/V0bk3dr
"Crunch time for the Government’s climate commitments" - timely commentary from @oisinc.bsky.social

Our letter in response to John FitzGerald's article last week, which made several incorrect claims about our research, including that it calls for Ireland to "end all livestock production".

I've written to @rte.ie Prime Time urging them to ask the about climate change in the final Presidential debate next Tuesday. Both candidates supported the 2019 declaration of a climate emergency by the Dáil. I want to hear how they would approach it as president.

This is honestly the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time- banning the use of the words burger & sausage on plant based products.
The world is burning & war ravaged, & this is what our Parliamentarians think they need to 'fix'?
P.S. Fish also don't have fingers, right @oisinc.bsky.social?
The full quote as reported:
“I don’t think we can mitigate for climate change,” he said.
“This might be controversial, because I believe in addressing climate change....
"No recollection or records" now vaults over "on mature recollection" to the top of the phrases-that-sank-an-Irish-Presidential-election-campaign charts. In both cases a considered "recollection" proved to be in contradiction with the truth and sank a @fiannafailparty.bsky.social candidate.
Infuriating radio debate sparked by our "temperature neutrality" analysis.

Sally Rooney won’t be 35 until February. But can we elect her President in October, let the presidential commission do the job for a few months and have her inauguration on her birthday? You have to be 35 to be President but do you have to be 35 to be elected? www.irishtimes.com/culture/book...
We now have ESBN & GNI on record that they can't prevent data centre connections. Upshot is no limits on data centres outside of Dublin + expansion of sites in Dublin - skyrocketing demand, impacts on housing, higher costs, gas dependency & emissions. Urgent need for legislative + policy change!
This decision by the EU shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that has been paying attention to water quality.
What should come as a surprise is that to date the Government has no contingency plan in place for any loss or major revision of the derogation.

📆Today is the EU deadline for Social Climate Plans.
In Ireland:
❌ No plan published
❌ No public consultation
These plans are needed to access EU funding to help with heating & transport costs, especially for lower-income households.
What to make of the fact that the sockets at the #NED25 aren’t connected to any power supply 😬? Our infrastructural deficit is getting out of hand altogether 😛.
Good to hear @micheal-martin.bsky.social at #NED25 reiterate the “existential challenge of climate change”, the growing threat from storms like Eowyn, and commit to accelerate #ClimateAction, “doing more and faster”.
But we haven’t seen decisions and delivery to match that rhetoric so far.
Time for Taoiseach @micheal-martin.bsky.social to listen to expert advice - top official highlights risk of data centres to housing and need for demand reduction - key elements of @foeireland.bsky.social campaign

Today @trocaire.bsky.social is launching a new climate justice campaign with a powerful report: ‘Fuelling Injustice: Ireland’s fossil fuel problem’ exposes how we’re enabling climate harm & calls on @micheal-martin.bsky.social’s Gov to do its fair share to drive a fast, funded, fossil-fuel phase out
Minister Jerry Buttimer speaking at The Wheel’s Charity Summit.
Great to hear Minister Jerry Buttimer speak so positively about the role charities & voluntary organisations play in communities around Ireland, especially in times like Storm Eowyn, and acknowledging the sector’s calls for multi-annual funding and efficient regulation at The Wheel’s #CharitySummit.
Useful summary by Prof @hannahdaly.ie of the shocking and alarming new figures from @epaireland.bsky.social on Ireland’s emissions that stoke climate chaos.
Stop Climate Chaos calls @epaireland.bsky.social's new emissions projections "alarming and shocking" and says what @micheal-martin.bsky.social does next is the acid test of his commitment to delivering the Programme for Government and upholding the climate law www.stopclimatechaos.ie/news/2025/05...
My take on @micheal-martin.bsky.social's climate reputation after a few months back as Taoiseach, for @eolasmagazine.bsky.social.
He's undone much of the work he'd done to be regarded as serious on climate change. What he does next will determine his legacy.

Mr Foley seems to be saying that a habitable planet for our children is unrealistic and that short term corporate profits and tax revenues are more important: "Climate chaos is a price worth paying for corporate profits".
It’s really bizarre to hear the Taoiseach call the debate around data centres “ill informed”, “without perspective” & “name calling”. It’s not “just” NGOs & academics raising concern - SEAI & CCAC have both said such expansion is a threat to climate targets

It was also great to have a chance to discuss the work of the Just Transition Commission with Mary Robinson and to receive a Dandelion pin as part of Project Dandelion, which I look forward to supporting.
For the rest of us? We need to stop. Not only does the International Council on Clean Climate (ICCC) reckon that the extra weight and bulk of SUVs outmatches the gains in efficiency we’ve made with improved petrol engines and electric power, but more recently Imperial College London has released a study that shows you’re 44 per cent more likely to die if you’re struck by an SUV as opposed to a more conventional saloon, hatchback or estate. For children, chillingly, that figure rises to 130 per cent. I’ve been known to soften my SUV stance in the face of examples that are charming, or stylish, or notably comfortable, practical or good to drive, but those figures are enough to make any potential SUV purchaser blanch at the prospect. Or, at least, they ought to.
Wow. An honest review of an SUV.
