Voters are not stupid. RCV is understandable and easy to use.
Just FYI: commenting “No, there’s nothing you can do to get me to contribute to your campaign” on a Platner FB post puts you on their texting radar.

The FEC calls it a hybrid PAC. As I just said to someone else, I have not noticed anyone correcting the claims that Platner took in millions from PACs.
I don't know the distinction between a PAC and a Hybrid PAC, but I have not noticed anyone correcting the claims that Platner took in millions from PACs.
I have been concerned over reporting that GP took in millions from PACs. I don't want the guy to be the Democratic nominee or Maine's Senator, but if he didn't take PAC funds, that should be corrected.
It is a hybrid PAC according to the FEC.
Re: Platner’s “PAC funding”.
ActBlue may be organized as a PAC, but practically it’s a conduit for individuals to contribute to Democratic candidates. www.fec.gov/data/committ...

Qualifications matter. GP does not have any and there is no evidence that he would have any idea how to "meet the moment" were he to be elected.
Can we please get past the horse race and talk qualifications?
Not the point.
Mills may not be a dynamic campaigner, but she is qualified by experience, knowledge, education, and political history to be Maine’s Senator.
Platner may be the former, but is certainly none of the latter - which are far more important.
Yeah, all 8 months of his “political” career.
He was in DC for many years (2008-09, 2011-2016ish). He failed to complete a degree at GWU. Worked as a bartender which is likely where he met the campaign team that bankrolled him less than a year ago.

Such a ridiculous notion to think that a machine gun squadron leader equates with being a Senator.
Yes we can write in and rank candidates. @andrealaflamme.bsky.social is my first rank as a write-in.
The Army/National Guard is a top-down, rules-based, order-following enterprise. A Senate office is none of that.
But you probably think that being on a Planning Board in a tiny Maine town is preparation for writing and shepherding legislation through Committees and the Senate, too.
That’s a heck of a low bar. #maine can, and should, do better.
Negotiating, compromising, and knowing how things work are vitally important. I see none of that in GP.
I was not happy with Mills as a candidate either, but I absolutely can't stand GP as one. The fact the press and social media have turned this into a horse race rather than an examination of qualifications is distressing.
I've been asking that question for months. Sadly, even the #Maine press appears to have bought into the GP "magic" and have decided Mills' experience, credentials, and knowledge (none of which GP has) are less important than cool.

Unfortunately, Maine Dems appear to have bought into "GP is a breath of fresh air" nonsense without thinking critically about him.
It was a carefully organized campaign to get Mainers to ignore his lack of qualifications in a "Just for fun, let's see if we can do it!" moment. #beard/henley/boat

GP did not "organize from scratch" either. He had a whole experienced national team that recruited him.
Personally, I don't want an amateur firebrand in the Senate.

One more time: his "baggage" is the least of his issues.
Interesting *she* "throws a tantrum" whereas GP (he) gets to offer non-apologies.
You seem intent on avoiding my point: getting an incompetent, uninterested-in-the-actual-role, possibly not-really-a-Democrat newbie elected into a six-year unrecallable term is not a good thing.
