a collage in process - edges of the paper taped down with blue painters tape, some bits of pictures on the tape in case they might belong on the collage. this one has a grid of black boxes, with cutout shapes or a hand in various positions, and in the cutout spaces I've put pieces of faces - eyes, an ear, a couple of whole people. background is green and lumpy.

collage of magazine pictures, dominated by a sort of gargoyle with a belligerent frog climbing out it’s mouth, and flanked by a bosch club-wielding bird of prey. these images emerge out of a background of brown leaves and blue-green waters.

water-soluble crayon. a briefly sketched heron-like bird, blue and purple with orange bill next to a row or spoked circles, and a line of orange dots, all rather organic looking, in the upper left there is also what could be purple confetti. the background is all greens and blues, and very much in motion.

water-soluble crayon. a purple mouse takes up most of the page. it is evidently howling toward a crescent moon, you can tell by the blue swirl coming out of its mouth. it looks pretty happy.

water-soluble crayon, abstract. green and blue washy lines and stripes, with orange line and circle accents, purple and black ground. The composition is a little reminiscent of a ‘holy family’ theme, but maybe that’s just to my eyes.

it’s my last day as a 67-year-old. general mayhem in the world notwithstanding, the past year has had its rewards in my little life. I’ll take it for what it is worth.
water-soluble crayon. a red rose bud nestles in rather grass-like green leaves, with celebratory spirals of blue and lavender under and above.

my daily art - unravel
spent Saturday sitting in Open Town Meeting, crocheting a hat for my brother. On Sunday I decided to undo all the work I had done, because it didn't come out the way I wanted. When I work it up again, it will be better.

ink. yeah, it’s sort of a sea slug, blobby yellow, with a red stripe down its back, a pair of eyes on stalks, with long tendrilly lashes, on a pretty green, blue and purple background.

abstract, with glued bits of yarn and thread, and pooled ink. the image could be seen as a purple doggish critter, ears upraised and head turned as if in sudden movement. or you might see something completely different, or nothing at all but swoops of line and color.

Now resurrected, see my crucifixion scars are evident.

The President of the United States is publicly threatening to commit genocide.
For love of country, for the freedoms we cherish and for the values we hold dear, the House must immediately reconvene and vote to impeach Donald Trump.

In a functioning "international order", a world leader who threatens that "a whole civilization will die" if he doesn't get what he wants, would be broadly condemned for those words by other world leaders, regardless of whether he follows them up with action.

Then you do, in fact, support making a whole civilization die.

I am the very model of the reverential revenent.
Now resurrected, see my crucifixion scars are evident.
The stone is rolled away and in the tomb no body is in sight
Two Marys will arrive and this will give them both an awful fright.
I'll visit good old Tom and tell him put his hand inside of me
(that's not a queer proposal, but just evidence of sanctity).
At dinner with two friends at Emmaus suddenly I'll disappear,
ascending up to heaven as I float up through the atmosphere.
Arriving up in heaven I will sit upon my Dad's right hand,
the ghost upon the other side I don't completely understand.
But never mind, I will return to earth in a millennia,
Though what I'm seeing there might drive a god to schizophrenia.
I told them feed the hungry, heal the sick, and also help the poors,
but now you see they use my name to justify forever wars.
Their cruelty and visciousness to anyone who's different
makes clear they didn't understand the message of my testament.
If I went back today they might deport me to El Salvador,
Imprison me and torture me and kill me like they did before.
They treat their wars and violence as if they all are jolly sports
About my Second Coming I admit I'm having second thoughts.
I suppose that if they kill me I would resurrect a second time
to tell them how they twist my words is really an appalling crime
and though they may consider that I am no longer relevant,
I'm still the very model of the reverential revenant.

The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
