Just had a guy ask me this on a dating app, before he mentioned “IsraHELL”, if anyone was wondering how prolific and acceptable antisemitism is in the UK at present.

Depends on context, obv. but I have begun inserting * into swear words only recently, not because I have an issue with saying fuck or wanker, but because people who share my posts may be reluctant to do so with their followers with these swears openly displayed.
Does anyone else find alcohol triggers terrible insomnia? It’s at the point now where I am basically teetotal because just one drink makes me wake after only 3 hours of sleep. Is there science behind this, or is it just my stupid brain?

I also ate toasted mealworms and locusts. Honestly, I was so grossed out to begin with, but after being convinced to have a pint of beer and see them as salty bar snacks, I then devoured them all. I was quite shocked at myself. (I didn’t look at them that closely though… 🤪)
I ate salted ones about a decade ago and really liked them (once I’d pushed past my initial fear/horror). Was it the flavour or the insect aspect which you found revolting?
All Jewish recipes handed down in my family consist of “add schmaltz until it’s the right consistency”, or “mix with fork until it feels right”, or “add water until it’s moist but not too wet”. No measurements; frustrating, but I do love them (my grandparents) though. 💜

You just made me go and watch it again - a timeless classic. However, 40 years on from when I first saw it (god, us Gen X-ers are old), I’m now hearing the lyrics as solely sexual. Was it always this way and I was just too young to understand it back then?
To add: amongst the awful terror attack in Australia, I’m focusing on celebrating a festival of light and my own birthday. Joy and love to counter antisemitism and hate. 💜
