44 years ago today, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was signed into law. It laid the foundation for a stronger, more just Canada.
It is up to us all to protect the values of freedom and equality enshrined in the Charter — to keep building a better Canada, for all.

Did the Pentagon actually threaten the Vatican and hint at establishing a counter papacy like the Avignon papacy of the 1300s?

On this day in 1978, the Immigration Act came into effect. For the first time, the Act defined refugees as a distinct group of immigrants in Canadian law, requiring the government to meet its obligations to refugees under international agreements.
I’m well aware of this but shocked it has even been suggested and that there has been no palace pushback. We all know this will be an epic disaster that won’t end well for the King. And don’t get me started about Trump’s nonsense towards Canada. Dreadful
Dreadful decision by the British government on oh so many levels…for example, timing, optics, reputation risk …. Add to that the erratic orange thing.
My new blog post is now live 🌳✨

#Opinion: Doug Ford’s contempt for local democracy is matched only by his contempt for Toronto taxpayers, writes Coun. Josh Matlow.
Tuned in just a bit late. Who is commentating with Mark Hanretty in this event please?
Luckily, our Sophie loves her garden.
