“Frustration with modern dating” feels like an awfully charitable phrasing for what’s motivating these guys
i can't help but think about 10 or 11 years ago when conservatives insisted that obama was uniquely anti-catholic because his administration thought that catholic-led orgs could just fill out a form if they didn't want to cover contraceptives in their health plans for employees.

Time for book promotion!
A Pox on Fools is a historical indictment of RFK Jr. & his anti-vax allies. I believe it's an important work; advance praise has been great, & I'll be posting examples at regular intervals.
For now, check out this lovely Publishers Weekly piece on how the book came to be:

More than 10,000 veterans lost their homes to foreclosure since May of last year, when the Trump admin shut down a key safety net in the VA home loan program, according to the latest industry data.
That is the highest pace of foreclosures for VA loans in a decade.

Drove through a local No Kings protest on our way to an Easter Egg hunt, and both my kids (3.5 and 5) were excited to wave and read the signs and learn why so many people cared to turn up. Made me feel hopeful for the first time in a while.
BREAKING via @cbsnews.com: About a dozen U.S. service members were injured in an attack on Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia, according to multiple U.S. officials. A small number sustained very serious injuries; others were considered seriously injured. @JimLaPorta @ellee_watson and me.

Welcome back!
For all of my complaints about Metro over there years, and there have been a few, it allowed me to live in DC, MD and VA over the course over a decade without owning a car, a feat which would be very, very hard in nearly any other part of the US. More cities should invest in public transit!
Share of commuters using transit to get to work, among select big cities
Share of commuters driving to get to work, among select big cities
Since the Metro opened in 1976, DC has consistently had some of the highest transit use among any big US city—higher than Chicago, Philly, or SF.
The share of residents using cars to get to work is the lowest in the country outside of NYC.
That's been made possible thanks to Metro.
The DC Metro
Happy birthday to the Washington Metro, which opened 50 years ago today with service on 4.6 mi of Red Line between Rhode Is. Ave & Farragut N. System now serves 130 mi.
The DC Metro shows that, with good planning & enough investment, the public sector can succeed & build something extraordinary.
If a secdef violating the 14th amendment rights of US servicemembers by denying promotions based on race isn’t impeachable then I don’t see what is. The man would rather the military be racist than effective.
