Earlier this month, Netflix launched their promotional campaign for the a brand new piece of neural tech that lets users escape reality, explore new worlds, and revisit near-forgotten memories. However, there was just one problem with the device...
It was entirely fictional! The Nubbin and its inventors, TCKR Systems, were both created as marketing for Black Mirror Season 7. They bought ad space on social media platforms, sent products to tech retailers, and had a few select content creators unbox their Nubbins for review. As a huge Black Mirror (and Charlie Brooker) fan, I was ecstatic to be one of the lucky creators included on that list. What's more is that the unboxing video I created for TikTok is currently sitting on 1.3 million views and just shy of 44,000 likes - without any paid spend behind it from the brand! I even made it into a video covering the story posted by ITV News ๐คฏ Not a bad result for my acting debut!
I'm really happy with the final video and I did manage to convince a few people so for my parting message, a piece of unsolicited advice: Don't believe everything you see on the internet!
Picture of Cadaea at her desk wearing a "nubbin" on her forehead. The Nubbin is a prop, or more specifically a round piece of plastic that's 1-2 cm thick with lights and a button in the middle.

I posted on LinkedIn about a recent campaign I was involved in!
I haven't given the platform much thought since I left my corporate career. It feels odd posting about my content when the majority of my connections are... not creators ๐
Mostly banking & tech!
