Nearly two-thirds of the total decline in the nation's murder rate since its 2020 peak occurred before Trump's second term. He doesn’t deserve credit.

His cuts to public safety programs while undermining trust in local law enforcement w/ his cruel immigration enforcement has made us less safe.

After spiking by nearly 30% in the last year of Trump’s first term, the 1st year of the pandemic, the homicide rate dropped significantly while Trump was out of office.

During the Biden admin, the US saw record year-over-year declines in both 2023 and 2024.

Trump mentioned the 2025 murder rate being at the lowest level in 125 years. While we don’t have final numbers, there’s a good chance this is true.
