He was definitely hired *because* he's this kind of person, not in spite of it.
This is a wakeup call to all people who could be fighting harder. www.offmessage.net/p/the-median...
It’s not too late for Dems to pivot to sturdier ground in this fight. www.offmessage.net/p/20-thought...
"Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians."

Democratic elites waste tons of time, money, and resources quibbling over rhetorical and positioning decisions of the recent past, largely ignoring the structural forces and decades of effort that went into making this happen. There is a better school of thought. www.offmessage.net/p/this-schoo...
Despite refusing to coordinate with the state or city, we’re monitoring the ongoing federal deployments that are instilling fear in our communities.
Americans have a right to peaceful assembly and to make their voices heard. Even if the Trump admin won’t follow the law, we will.
This point has gotten lost despite my efforts, so lets home in on it directly. A shutdown fight where Dems ignore Trump's abuses of power to take a stand on safe but extraneous issues is like every other shutdown fight we've seen. Taking a stand to rein in Trump makes it something entirely new.
Luttig is communicating vastly more clearly and honestly about Roberts and Scotus than most Democratic officials are. It’s absolutely flabbergasting.
"“I ain’t ever bought no prostitutes. I ain’t never raped nobody. I ain’t never paid anybody off. None of that stuff,” said G, a resident from one of the photographed tents.
“He’s much more of a criminal than I am”"

Heinous.
there are far too many mcclellans in the democratic party
It should not be hard for Democrats to integrate the Epstein story into their core critique of Trump:
“Trump is the most corrupt president in American history. He’s abandoning his promises to release the Epstein documents and not touch Medicaid because it benefits him and his billionaire cronies.”
ICYMI, the U.S. Constitution gives lawmakers the power “to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations.”
if being part of the union does not entitle you to any of the benefits of the union, we do not, in any real sense, have a union
BREAKING: Four of the Globetrotters’ top scorers to form competitor to the NBA.
Weirdly, the people who looked at polls and said (wrongly) the LA protests were “playing right into Trump’s hands” by increasing immigration salience aren’t saying the GOP is playing right into Democrats’ hands by passing the OBBBA, when the data actually supports that statement
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com
“It is possible that hell has frozen over,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren writes. “President Trump and I agree on something very important: Abolish the debt limit.”
As y'all might remember, I am no great fan of Gov. Newsom, but you go to war with the army you have, and this army seems to be doing an admirable job.
Please proceed, Governor.
And the Democrats who have been elected to govern California need to assert their authority over local law enforcement agencies and order them to use any force necessary to prevent unconstitutional and illegal actions by the Trump Administration in their jurisdiction.
Get offended, yes.
But do more than that — go on offense.
Stop allowing business as usual to proceed in the Senate. Grind the chamber to a halt.
Real world:
- Trump team trying to create a Reichstag moment.
- Trump telling military audience that LA is hellhole full of "animals"
- Officials in Calif trying both to calm things down, and stand up
PUNDIT world:
- Is it smart politics?
- Is Gavin running?
- Doesn't Trump look strong!
Ugh… Sly Stone and Brian Wilson in one week. Hard to process how so many titans of rock are or soon will be leaving us. #RIP
not enough said about how, by turning the national government against states on the basis of ordinary political disagreement, trump is undermining the idea that the union is worthwhile. www.cnn.com/2025/06/06/p...
So… Dems had years to put up any signs more accurately assigning credit and less arcane/off-putting than the “Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill”
Legality aside, how pathetic for the American head of state to fly around in the plane he got as a valentine from the Emir of Qatar. A kept little man.
11/ The tariffs aren’t economic policy. They are political weapons.
But as long as we see this clearly, we can stop him. Public mobilization is working. Today, a few Republicans joined Democrats to vote against one set of tariffs.
The people still have the power.
Who’s going to tell her?
