Real!
MG forever!
I'm so excited for you! Congratulations!!!
Yay!!!! Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!!!
Thank you, @ashpreads.bsky.social for this hope-giving encouragement. A year ago, I thought I might put Dalrymple away forever, but RevPit has given me a renewed enthusiasm and direction. I am so grateful!
Hooray!!!! Congratulations!
I am so honored! Thank you, Ash! 💚💚💚
I hate that kind of adrenaline!
Nice choice! I just made a quiche last week with leftover Easter ham. Yummy!!
It's a tie: Coconut custard pie (my grandmother's recipe) and Libby's traditional pumpkin pie. (I love pie!)
Thank you, Demi! What a kindness!
What a joy to find such a smart, kind, and creative community of writers with whom to share encouragement and commiseration! I'm grateful and honored to be a part of this space with you.
Just my own theorizing, but if I were an editor, I would purposely leave the winner out of my 10queries so that spot could go to someone who wasn't already going to get intensive feedback.
I second this wholeheartedly!
The world needs more people like you, Demi. I've enjoyed both your heart and your contagious enthusiasm throughout this process.
I'd love to join!
Yes, we can!!
I feel this one! (I also need to significantly trim my manuscript to be marketable...)
Oh, this is soooo me, too! The story might stay with me forever, but the names will often be gone within an hour of reading the last page.
Ironically, I'm currently reading an MG novel retelling of Les Miserables as a potential comp for my book. (The book is A Wish in the Dark by Christina Soontornvat.)
LOL! The same could be said of my book. 😂
I'm going to guess this is me. Those first pages have nearly been the death of me. I've re-written them so many times, I think I've sucked all the life out of them. Whether this is me or not...I'm taking this feedback to heart.
Ah, one of my favorites!
100%! Not only is music a key plot point in my #RevPit submission, I actually imagined what a musical adaption might look like while I was writing it. (And since my son now writes musicals, I can't help but daydream about a future collaboration. 😁)
And stuffed animals? Still her favorite gift to give and receive. (This is the same child who is now driving, taking AP courses, and serving as an editor on her school yearbook.) They truly are sitting in two worlds/spaces at once.
My 15-year-old daughter loves stickers so much, she has started rewarding herself with them when she meets her own goals.
Truth!
I believe my (MG) manuscript would also likely fit into a "young YA" space, but this doesn't exist as a marketable category, does it? And if it does, what ages does it include?
