A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief.

The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."

The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.

100%!!! He's not afraid to be as goofy as needed, but then he has so much control of the scene he'll have you tearing up over Silver and Jim's father/son relationship 5 minutes after a Muppet musical number. It's fantastic.

I'm not even sure this qualifies as a conspiracy, because the military has been saying publicly for years that they're trying to get Americans more fit for military service, and the current head of the US military is religiously obsessed with Red Pill garbage

Tim Curry has been in so many wonderful things but he says Muppet Treasure Island (the best adaptation and one of my favorite movies) is his fave. Tim Curry is the type of once-a-century talent who can share a screen with Piggy and Sweetums and still steal the show. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3VK...

When I bought this cute little table I knew they had slopped paint landlord-special style over real wood, but I didn't know they'd painted over gold filigree inlay???? This is a crime

My wife asked me to repost this in case some folks missed it.

She is de-stashing her treasure hoard of yarn. There's a lot of it. It's kinda taken over the house. I'm in the attic of the garage right now. Help?

The president has used a loophole in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to get away with mass warrantless surveillance of Americans — and this week Congress will vote on whether to expand this power.

Tell Congress to vote NO at 833-946-2258.

It's weird to me that streaming companies don't do the spaced out releases more often? Like it keeps people subscribed for longer, isn't that good for their bottom line?

I'm glad all the bigots liking his jokes made him reflect rather than pivot into that. Hopefully he'll stop punching down in the future. If it's not attacking the powerful, it's not comedy.

Why do CEOs make so much money now?
Why do CEOs make so much money now? YouTube video by Good Work

While they're at the company, "performance pay" (bonuses based on making Line Go Up, regardless of longterm cost) are also a tax loophole, so CEOs and execs are incentivized to maximize those regardless of who they destroy in the process. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_1y...

CEOs Are Making Millions While Laying Off Thousands Of Workers And Filing For Bankruptcy It's fair to appropriately award CEOs when they add value to their companies. It's tone-deaf and inappropriate to reward executives who preside over companies that fail and seek bankruptcy protection ...

People used to be CEO for decades, now they're CEO for only a couple years, and when they leave they often get an exit bonus based on how much money they "made" the company (ex: golden parachutes). They don't plan for the future b/c they don't care. www.forbes.com/sites/jackke...

A lot of creative companies' head honchos are soulless nepobaby econ goons whose only prior work experience is investment banking. They don't understand art or what makes it good, they only care about saying "LINE GO UP" at the next investor meeting. The strategy is 'burning the house to keep warm'.
