That’s totally unfair to today’s average @nacto.bsky.social agency engineer, it’s why I am happy to share my stories & present in academic situations when ever I am asked

No Turn on Red, Lanes Narrow, AND protected lefts! Where’s the bike lane 😀
Lots of potential inequities to transfer maintenance burden on to cities 🤑
Idk… Cities aren’t helpless though. They have control over land use and building parallel streets but it’s not often done. Cities also have input to regional travel demand modeling which often overestimates demand based on where available land is assumed developed. Planners need to place boundaries
6 lane arterials are incompatible with a #VisionZero City
Driving into the future? @waymo.bsky.social gave me a list in Austin. Takeaways: it drives the speed limit, it yields to pedestrians, & is smoother than I thought
My first game of @trimet.org @routle & the guess was perfect!
Is there a top Bluesky feeds summary write up of transportation & planning folks @planetizen.bsky.social similar to this old article www.planetizen.com/features/861...
Cars are back in the Gaslamp in San Diego 😏
Y’all need to team up with @peterfurth.bsky.social to write this stuff up!
Good questions, given there is no NTCIP 👮 & limited subject matter expertise at the federal level, it’s up to you to define as a local practitioner
Does SCP follow NTCIP which would disallow leaving coordination?
CV Link trail in Palm Springs is an example of a bicycle super highway that is not well connected with to neighborhoods in some sections, hopefully bike oriented development is the next step
2 minutes cycling on a protected facility in/through a downtown without stopping for a 🚦is multimodal transportation policy at work @bikeleague.org @apbp.bsky.social @nacto.bsky.social
Observations from #TRBAM
1. Fewer Committees makes for less specialization that advances technical knowledge ⬇️
2. ITE volunteers offer wonderful insight into practitioner perspectives that compliment state DOTs ⬆️
3. People coming together ⬆️
4. Students are the future ⬆️
The people of #TRBAM are what keeps me coming back, so grateful for the colleagues at @oregonstate.edu & elsewhere #ITE
It wouldn’t be a #TRBAM without reporting a 🚦issue to @ddotdc.bsky.social
Hey #TRBAM is this thing on?
Government agencies and their partners can build amazing things with the right leadership
Mike is a great hire!
It was set awhile ago and then it’s evaluated in the field, accounting for changing needs of users. E-bikes are an interesting consideration for the speed selection
Setting 🚦timing to the speed of cycling on one-way streets is an overlooked part of #invisibleurbanism #VisionZero
@henrygrabar.bsky.social should have made t-shirts 🅿️
Political leadership is key to plan for #LifeAfterCars In Emeryville, CA @johnbauters.bsky.social & team leads the way with research-based policy decisions that make true positive change & a city that is educating & engaged with the public 🧐 @thewaroncars.bsky.social
Transit based holiday gear may be the best stan anyone can have
I think Clarence talked to him about this in the sequel! He also was a gentrifier of Sycamore Street! Pottersville had great nightlife albeit the inequity in the community
That’s how all suburbs start, without proper infrastructure though, the further they spread….
Ghent is highlighted in @thewaroncars.bsky.social #LifeAfterCars as a City that used a thoughtful traffic circulation plan to boost cycling in the central city @bicycledutch.bsky.social described it here youtu.be/rf0chvYf5Yo?...
