John wanted to adapt his physical word game AlphaBirds into a Slay the Spire/Balatro-like single player experience.

Corey got in touch and, in spite of having played neither Slay the Spire nor Balatro, convinced John he was the person for the job.

Birdigo was created and designed by @johnaugust.bsky.social (Big Fish, Corpse Bride) and developed by @toboggan.work (Bonfire Peaks, Tire Boy).

The two met after John put out a call for a game dev collaborator on his screenwriting podcast Scriptnotes.
