Being joined (or guarded) for the Office of Readings this morning in a still empty study. Followed by a short reading from the Rule of St Benedict. Princess wasn’t impressed with Benedict’s rule on only two meals a day, he’s already had two this morning!

And so it begins. The long journey up to Berwick-Upon-Tweed begins. Exciting!
Finally made it on to the Rector’s roll! This beautiful work is by the illustrator FD Bedford, who illustrated the first edition of Peter Pan and some of Charles Dickens
Starting in 1320 it’s still 170 years into St Mary’s story, one I’ve been hugely privileged to be a part of these last five years.

Not really on a grand farewell tour but it was lovely to be back at my curacy parish, St Peter and St Paul’s, Chingford to preside at Mass today.

So it’s that time of “the last things” … not the end of the world (hopefully) but the ending of my ministry at Parish of Little Ilford. My last service here will be Sunday 16th March at 3pm at St Michael and All Angels, followed by suitable refreshments. Come say, see you later!
