We have a bookstore crawl happening throughout April all around Houston! #HTXBookCrawl26
I, as a then-twenty-something man, used to sing the shit out of that song in my car. For like, a year straight. So good.

On my way home from a long weekend in Denver. Got to visit two Tattered Cover locations. One was a converted theater, the other is in the airport!
Every airport should have a dedicated bookstore, not just a Hudson News or whatever.

Caveat #1: If you're allergic, they will shorten your lifespan, not increase it. You should probably look into that before committing to a pet.

I'm not sure three would be enough.
I brought home a copy of this book from Winter Institute and read it over about six hours yesterday. Darcy is a gifted storyteller, and his insights into ADHD hit home in ways I didn't expect.

Several bookshelves at my house filled with science fiction and fantasy books and related things.
4/5ths of my books - there's another bay to the right, but I can't stand far back enough in the room to get the whole thing. The book wall is something like 13 feet long. Why am I opening Multiversity? This is why. I love this stuff.
Just two days until I head to Pittsburgh for @americanbookseller.bsky.social Winter Institute! I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, but I've been to plenty of conferences in my life. I know it'll be great.
Hey, did you know we're on Facebook too? If you spend time over there, give us a Like and a Follow! We'll be posting updates on both platforms as we work toward opening this fall, including our Kickstarter launch next month. Every follow helps us build this thing.

It's been a minute since the last time I posted here - social media has never been my strong suit 🫣
Plans for the store continue apace! Heading for a grand opening around August.
Right now I'm gearing up for Winter Institute in Pittsburgh later this month (my first bookseller conference!).
When I was a kid in Rhode Island, we had a kerosene heater we used in winter, but now I'm in Texas. If I just run my gas stove during the freeze... same thing, right?
It's a real nice stove. Five burners. The middle one is big enough to cook a horse. Not that I'd cook a horse probably.
I like the birthday cake flavored Ororos. And the double stuffed ones.
And all the starter kits play exactly the same - it's only the card text and theming that differentiates them. You can/should get them for about $25, but as with any collectible, it can vary. Personally, I wouldn't spend more than $30 for a starter kit.
Yep! It mostly comes down to the kids' preferred vibe. The Bloomburrow Starter Kit is great for fans of Redwall and animal adventures. The Assassin's Creed kit is faithful to the vibe of those games, but MTG sets are basically rated PG (slight PG-13 edge *maybe*), so no need to worry about content.
Not personally, but the shop where I play Magic the Gathering has a Lorcana *league*. It’s become insanely popular in a very short time, and I think you’ll probably enjoy it!
That was @susiedentwords.bsky.social ‘s Word of the Day a while back, and I’ve been going around telling people about it ever since. Plus I used it in a novel I’m working on.
They were worried you might confuse Berlin the city with Berlin the band.
But I don’t *want* to be the greatest generation. Just… fuckin… arrgh. Forget it.
This take is only mildly hyperbolic.
I gave up on the whole concept of Black Friday when I got into marketing 20 years ago. Between jacking the regular prices, keeping things on permanent "pseudo-sale," and screwing with sale prices throughout the year, there is not, and never has been, a true "best of the year" deal on Black Friday.
