3/ DFT calculations show that the Fermi level shifts deeply into the valence band and implicates states near the R point in superconductivity. And helps explain the sudden onset of superconductivity with doping. Interestingly, the bands in this part of the Brillouin Zone are quite flat.

2/ We demonstrate that MBE can be used to grow highly Ga doped superconducting Ge on semiconducting Ge. We used x-ray absorption to identify the short range order around Ga dopants and x-ray scattering to detect a subtle lattice distortion due to the differing size of the dopants.
