hoth family + arfr are very lucky that they released during fontaine because at that point hyv were starting to find their groove on connecting new stories with the older ones (see: wanderer's whole arc in sumeru). before sumeru, the prev 3 nations mond, liyue, n inz were very separate stories

theyre definitely trying to improve on their writing and presentation to remedy this, but genshin's cast is HUGE huge huge, and with the live service model theyre providing, sidelining stories and characters is inevitable to a degree all the time.

ah yeah i like emk + hat guy situation as well. calling it a "hole in my heart" is less of a dislike about the content itself but rather the presentation and execution of it. genshin falls into an infinity loop trap of needing to focus on a new cast, so the older characters get sidelined #strawp
