From MWC 🇪🇸 to Amsterdam! ✈️
Home for a breather, but already prepping for #WebDevCon this Friday. My title slide is 100% finished—the rest is very much a work in progress. 🏗️
Are you based in Amsterdam or attending? Let’s sync up or grab a coffee while I’m in town! 🇳🇱

Forget app downloads—messaging is now a mini-app platform. 📱✨
WhatsApp & RCS allow users to track packages or use AI without friction. But how do you monetize? My latest guide shows how to use Twilio & Stripe to build paywalled chat experiences.

The result is simpler architecture, faster execution, and one less haunting in your logs.
👻 Bye-bye ghost legs.
Hello clean conferences.
www.twilio.com/en-us/change...
Think of it as exorcising the ghost from your call flow and your invoice. 💸
If you’ve been experimenting with Twilio’s #ConversationRelay, OpenAI #RealtimeAPI, or any real-time AI assistant, this update makes it much easier to plug them in directly.
But not anymore. With the latest features, you can now add a TwiML App directly to a Conference using the Participants subresource.
No more outbound ghost calls. No spooky billing surprises. Just a clean, direct connection between your Conference and your AI agent.
Until now, if you wanted to connect an AI assistant to a Twilio conference call, you had to create a “ghost leg”: an outbound call to a Twilio-managed number that dialed back in to join your conference.
That meant extra setup, extra cost, and a touch of spectral complexity. 👻
🎃 This Halloween, #Twilio’s busting ghosts. Specifically, those spooky “ghost legs” developers had to summon to bring AI agents into conferences.

"For most software developers, AI-enabling their app is best done with API calls" -- This makes a lot of sense.

At the end of the day, a great CfP is about clarity, relevance, and value. It’s not just about what you want to say—it’s about what your audience needs to hear.
What’s your go-to tip for writing a standout conference proposal? Share your thoughts below! 👇
5️⃣ Leverage Tools Like ChatGPT I’m a big fan of using tools like ChatGPT to refine my writing. It’s fantastic for simplifying complex ideas, improving phrasing, and catching grammar mistakes. It’s like having a second pair of eyes that’s always available!
4️⃣ Less Is More A good abstract always feels too short to the author. Aim for two to three paragraphs max. Avoid long lists of learning outcomes—they can feel overwhelming and lack context. If the conference asks for learning goals, save those for a separate field (if available).
3️⃣ Remember, you’re writing for two audiences: the selection committee and the attendees. Both need to be convinced in 30 seconds or less.
2️⃣ Focus on the "Why", Your abstract should answer one key question: Why should someone attend the session? Instead of diving too deep into what you’ll cover (definitions or background), emphasize the value for the audience. What problem are you solving? What will they gain?
1️⃣ Title Matters, But Keep It Relevant I’m a fan of concise, topic-driven titles. While catchy, clickbaity titles can grab attention, they often feel disconnected from the actual talk. A clear, relevant title sets the right expectations and helps your audience.
