Leaving a workshop on environmental concerns/disparities in housing, parks and transportation. This route connects the downton bike lanes with another bike lane on the other side of this intersection. The meeting was at a church along this gap in the network. Literally no other way to get there.

Years ago we had the mayor bike to school with my 6 year old, within the first :30 seconds they were almost hit by a driver on live TV.
Every leader should be required to ride a bike (if able) with a 6 year old before they provide any direction on bike infrastructure.
Funny how the "but what about emergency services" argument never gets brought up here.
Bike lanes in Evanston range in quality from amazing to useless. That’s why I’m organizing with city transportation staff and planning a “rolling meeting” with our elected officials and residents. There’s no substitute for riding it yourself. More details to come.
