Glad to hear you’ve made it there safely. Hope you have a smashing time over there (if you’ve made it through the passport checks yet…)

I’m not far away myself. Sleep well.

Couldn’t agree with you more - both stupid beyond measure. And seemingly we never learn as a species either!

…where, on a desk underneath some protective glass, is the signed document that kickstarted the First World War. If I’m ever back that way, I’ll have to make a visit to it.

I think my biggest regret was from when I was too young to understand the significance of a place. I was in Bad Ischl when I was at the Salzburg music festival. Unknown to me was that I was only yards from the Kaiservilla - the summer residence of the Austrian Emperor…

It was part of the tour of the parliament. The whole thing was fascinating.

Yeah, it’s amazing when you can feel the history of these places. I remember being in Westminster Hall and seeing a brass plaque on the floor that read ‘on this spot in 1305, William Wallace was sentenced…’ It was quite overwhelming to think I was standing in the same spot!

Pompeii will be amazing!

Ha ha!! I’m sure it will mostly be the former. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for them.

It certainly sounds like it should be impressive with that name!

Italy is most definitely on my ‘to-do’ list. Probably spring or autumn for me to cope with the temperatures though.

I feel your pain. I’ve been up since 0400 this morning. However, the rest of the day is now finally mine!

Hope they came early and you managed a snooze…

Beautiful photo, as always.

It was an early start for me this morning, but a lovely trip to and from Aberdeen. Mostly sunny and just a smidge of Scottish sunshine (rain) in Aberdeen.

Hoping you have a splendid Saturday, Gabby.

Built in 1870. I genuinely think it’s impossible to take a bad photo in there. It’s impossibly beautiful.
