At some point you need to stop using that potato. A thousand dollar phone gets maybe 2 or 3 years of updates. Why is anyone expecting MS to keep providing updates for a 10+ year old OS (that they probably didn't even pay for), it's a little ridiculous.
The new paradigm sounds a lot like the old paradigm. Everyone waits until America says what we will do.
