A WHOLE CIVILIZATION WILL DIE TONIGHT My son needs lunch, and I have to put his backpack together, but a whole civilization will die tonight, so I'm wondering if they've closed their schools. Like, a snow day, maybe, except instead of snow it's "keep your children home so if you die, you die together" — instead of "well open back up once the plows have cleared" it's "we don't know if we'll be here tomorrow, hold your babies tight." It's just "talk" I'm told, which I've been told before. "It's how the president makes his deals." But I've never heard anyone talk about other human beings this way, and I'm not certain I can look my son in the eyes if we all agree to stomach it one more time. Yes!! I feel this every day, and at each protest when I wonder why there aren’t more people there.

Also we are looking at moving out of the country. Cannot believe there are so many uninformed, ignorant, uneducated people in our once great country. It is devastating to realize this. 😞 Can’t wait to visit Toronto for a Blue Jay’s game this summer to escape the insanity, if only for a few days. 🇨🇦

We are doing everything we can: Attending every protest, boycotting companies who donated to him, calling our representatives, donating to Democrats. The problem is that so many Americans just can’t be bothered to take action or inconvenience themselves until it finally impacts them directly. Grr 🤬🤬

Grateful to be able to peacefully protest today in my city. So many more honks and supportive gestures today and very few middle fingers. My son is still able to attend for now, but I worry the time is coming soon when it will be too dangerous for him to join us.

I’m not religious at all, but I remember that story from church—King Solomon threatened to cut a baby in half to find the real mother. The true one gave up her claim to save the child. That’s how this feels: Dems save the “baby” (the economy, workers) while the GOP’s fine watching it burn.

I’m disappointed too, but it feels like that Bible story—the real mother (Dems) had to save the baby (our economy, air traffic controllers, federal workers, SNAP recipients), even if it meant the fake mother (Republicans) got away with being cruel and reckless. 🤷🏻‍♀️
