Thank you to Mike F Shaw.

Electoral fraud? Gerrymandering? Voter intimidation? Postal ballots? How much more transparent does it have to be, for them to see that Reform LTD is literally getting its talking points from the USA.

Gerrymandering isn’t a thing in the UK for crying out loud!

ICE took their papers—and won’t give them back Immigrants are being released from detention without documents proving their status.

“As far as I can tell, it’s the practice of ICE to throw everybody’s documents into a black box and then lose it.”

WOW on Pretti's denial of medical treatment

"I informed the ICE agents that I am a physician, and I asked to
assess the victim.

At first, the ICE agents wouldn't let me through. ... But none of the ICE agents who were near the victim were performing CPR, ... None of the agents were helping him."

In every news story, the BBC News team now misgender trans women, using the phrase 'a biological male who identifies as a woman'.
They claim to have research showing a large chunk of their audience is confused by the term 'trans woman', which is why they have applied the additional descriptor.
I submitted an FOl request, asking for this research, if only to see if it genuinely exists.
The BBC News team has now responded to my FOl. They are refusing to share the research. Quelle surprise.

The BBC claims to have “research” that supports its decision to use abusive transphobic terms for trans women.

But it will not share that “research”.

At the most basic level research is not research if it is not published.

It is just a lie. The BBC is lying.

This is relevant to the bill currently in the Lords here in the UK too. The bill which came out of the commons with none of the safeguards that had been proposed.

Who funds the Free Speech Union? Toby Young’s outfit went to court to hide its donors. Today we reveal that funders include US anti-abortion groups, Brexit politicians and Tufton Street insiders.

It will not surprise you to learn that Toby Youngs 'Free Speech Union' has obtained a High Court injunction banning the publication of a list of its donors open.substack.com/pub/democrac...

If this sounds like “the lesser races are a cancer that is eating away at the Reich, here’s how men of will will eradicate this disease” then that’s because that’s what it is. Chuck in a bit of encirclement, decadent art, historical grievance and Bolshevik intellectual menace, and it’s 1934.

You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof. What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.

A few months ago, ICE hired me

I didn't sign and submit any paperwork. I almost certainly failed the drug test. I'm real outspoken about my opposition to the Trump administration, and I am extremely googlable

And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!"

I pulled up next to one at 10:17am yesterday an snapped a photo. By 10:27 the agents I photographed were in front of my house, along with another vehicle that met them there. It's a 10 minute drive from where I took the photo to my house - so they got the data *instantly*

I am delighted to welcome Nadhim Zahawi to Reform UK. He will bring useful experience, such as claiming £6,000 to heat his stables and avoiding £3.7m tax by hiding £27m offshore and threatening to sue anyone who asked about it.

US scrambles to justify intervention as legal act
David Charter
The direct domestic legal case for the US arresting Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, is set out in an updated indictment released on Saturday. It lays out charges of narco-terrorism, cocaine importation, possession of machineguns and conspiracy.

For the first time it includes the Maduros as joint defendants with Héctor Guerrero Flores, leader of the Tren de Aragua (TDA) criminal gang which runs extensive drug and human trafficking operations. The indictment suggests that Maduro is in league with Guerrero Flores, building the case that Maduro collaborated with TDA in smuggling tonnes of cocaine to the US.

But this contradicts a memo from the US intelligence services released in May that found no direct link.

Maduro’s lawyers will seize on this and also the “Noriega defence”, the legal case unsuccessfully mounted by lawyers for the deposed Panamanian military leader seized by the US in 1990 under President George HW Bush, that he has immunity from prosecution as a foreign head of state. A memo written for the Bush administration in 1989 by Bill Barr, later attorney-general in Trump’s first term, argues that a president has “inherent constitutional authority” to take people into custody in foreign countries.

Domestic complaints about Trump overreaching stem from the US constitution, article 1 section 8, which states that “The Congress shall have power … to declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water.” But the constitution also gives power to the president to direct the armed forces under article 2.

Trump has declared war on the drug cartels and named Maduro as head of one, the Cartel de Los Soles or Cartel of the Suns. Maduro said no such cartel exists. Susie Wiles, the White House chief-of-staff, was asked in a recent interview with Vanity Fair why approval had not been sought from Congress for the war on cartels.

The Times - Migrants’ phones will be seized to catch smugglers
Mobile phones and Sim cards will be seized from migrants without needing to arrest them from today as part of efforts to tackle the number of Channel crossings.

Officers will begin taking electronic devices from people at Manston processing centre in Kent, and data will be downloaded from them to gather intelligence on people smugglers.

It is hoped that the new powers for law enforcement agencies will speed up investigations and come after the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Act became law last month.

Alex Norris, the border security minister, said: “These operational measures sit alongside sweeping reforms to the system, to make it less attractive for migrants to come here illegally and remove and deport people faster.”

Last year, 41,472 migrants arrived in the UK after crossing the Channel, the second highest figure ever.

Chris Philp , the shadow home secretary, said that Labour had confined itself to “cosmetic tweaks” and that there was no deterrent to those crossing the Channel. Instead, he pressed for quitting the European Convention on Human Rights in order to take effective action, which Labour has rejected.

The new law also introduces new criminal offences such as up to 14 years in jail for storing or supplying boat engines to bring migrants across the Channel. Smugglers downloading maps to find departure points for small boats or researching the best places to buy equipment for the dinghies could face up to five years in prison.

If I decided it was too much bother to clean my house so I moved into an igloo in Antarctica for the rest of my life, you'd think I was awful stupid.
Tech bros deciding they'd lose too much profit if they stopped destroying the Earth because they can move to Mars someday is even stupider.

I can’t think of a better analogy for America than the Epstein files. A bunch of files about numerous men raping/SAing girls and the only person in prison is a woman.

Study of over twenty five million people over almost four years finds that COVID vaccines reduced COVID deaths by 74% and increased all-cause deaths by zero. I don’t know how much clearer it can get than that.

Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
