BAFTA pulling a trailer for an autobiographical game about surviving sexual assault only hours before it was said to be a part of a showcase is an exceptionally bad look.

Either celebrate games as art, or drop the pretence. There’s not really a middle ground.

So the big studios are abandoning the US and turning the staff workers into contractors to get out paying for healthcare.

The United States is losing one of its defining industries because of not having universal healthcare and the people are going to be even more vulnerable to the industry.

Maybe we don’t need next day delivery. Maybe ignoring or stepping over dead bodies to make Amazon warehouse deadlines is in fact, bad.

I don’t know if it’s actually more accurate but I’m a big fan of ‘BRO!’

A powerful man sexually pursuing a young woman who works for him is oppressive. It immediately limits and reshapes her future to her detriment, whether she is physically forced into it or not. It’s coercion either way, and that is why it’s so wrong. It’s an abuse of power.

"If Swalwell was guilty, his accusers would file charges" is a thing I keep seeing. But here's the thing: it's absolutely NOT how the system works.

ONLY PROSECUTORS CAN FILE CRIMINAL CHARGES IN THE US LEGAL SYSTEM.

Ar ndóigh, tá ana-bhrón orm má tá mo chuid Gaelainn go dona anso. Geallaim táim ag déanamh mo dhícheall.

Ní thuigim canathaobh gur chomh deachair leis seo Gaelainn scríofa a thuiscint. Ceapaim go labhraím í agus tuigim í agus í labhartha go brea, ach agus é an am í a scríobh nó léamh, táim ar strae. Tá rud uirthi go gcuireann ar mo cheann tinneas.

you have to get him out of office and you have to do it today

even if it gets blocked you force an impeachment vote right now

how else can you live with yourself if he follows through with this and you didn’t do everything you could to stop it

at this point I may have more contempt for the guy who could do something, whose job it is to do something, and chose not to over and over again

This is incredible. Over 500 sociologists & counting have committed to BOYCOTTING the annual American Sociological Association meeting if BDS is not put back on the ballot.

We reject the Palestine exception! Let the people vote!

If you’ve never called your congressional reps before, do it right now.

Jesus wept.

I just called my US rep and senators and told them they have to do everything they can to stop this genocide. I told them I don't care if they're in the minority. They have options. I told them to chain themselves to the White House fence.

Please call your reps, too. reps.fyi

This is why I’m so scared about 2032. Like, I think 2028 is a gimme for whichever opposition party rises in the next couple years, but I’m scared that it’ll be another Biden who won’t effectively root out this corruption and then we’ll just because with Trump 3 (maybe literally)

Prosecuting and purging the Republican Party was Biden’s one job. When he failed to do his duty it was just a waiting game to this moment.

Captured by the Artemis II crew during their lunar flyby on April 6, 2026, this image shows the Moon fully eclipsing the Sun. From the crew’s perspective, the Moon appears large enough to completely block the Sun, creating nearly 54 minutes of totality and extending the view far beyond what is possible from Earth. The corona forms a glowing halo around the dark lunar disk, revealing details of the Sun’s outer atmosphere typically hidden by its brightness. Also visible are stars, typically too faint to see when imaging the Moon, but with the Moon in darkness stars are readily imaged. This unique vantage point provides both a striking visual and a valuable opportunity for astronauts to document and describe the corona during humanity’s return to deep space. The faint glow of the nearside of the Moon is visible in this image, having been illuminated by light reflected off the Earth. [alt text from NASA]

The #Artemis II astronauts said they needed more superlatives to describe their view of the eclipse, when the Sun was behind the Moon and its near surface was faintly illuminated by Earthshine

It would not hurt if you called your GOP MoCs to tell them they are legally complicit with the war crimes Trump is committing.

Might not prevent armageddon, but couldn't hurt.
