No Kings except Weston McKennie

I was gonna say something like this. In Madison we have exactly one professional sports franchise. Number of beat reporters: 0. Number of stories about it in the two major papers: 0. Only consistent media guy is the founder of a web-only outlet.

A friend found this at Aldi in St Paul.

Every day we draw further from the light.

We're on pace for a bunch more! I remember the Chilaka one now, but yeah, not used to having towers at the back

also if we get four shots on frame every half we're gonna score

When's the last time we had a defender score off a header? Long time, feels like. McCamy looks pretty calm under pressure too. And not used to seeing a finish like the Gyamfi one from a Mingo...usually that gets tangled up in our feet and lands in the 7th row

Last week's draw felt so much like a win that I forgot it wasn't.

And the only team with a road win is Champagne of Beers FC. We'll accept your apology to Wes whenever you're ready.

some concerts for Forward every year, which I'm sure help.

I believe ownership has said they haven't turned a profit yet but in context that's not clear whether that means they're profitable year-to-year (but haven't paid back all of the investment to launch the club) or if they are losing money.

And the attendance situation is much different - I would guess average of 4.2 or 4.3k in a 5k capacity place. very often full or close during summer.

I still worry about them though because of stuff like this!

That makes sense, especially in that there's not yet a reliable pathway to sell players (so as to give another revenue stream).

Forward Madison season ticket holder here.

Do you think that's true across the board, or is it a city/market the size of Statesboro can't generate matchday revenue that's sufficient? Really bleak attendance for at least last year at Statesboro.

How is it that we can get to two weeks before the USL season starts and South Georgia Tormenta only just now says, oops, we don't have money to operate this year.

Forward Madison loses their July 4 home game thanks to this - I'm sure ownership is delighted to lose a sellout.

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.

Any man's death diminishes me,

Because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;

It tolls for thee.

A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...
