Since I can't fall back asleep without my fan and cpap I went and took a pic. Pulled into the County highway dept parking whichnisvright across the highway from the elevator. Firetruck from surrounding towns have been called in as well.
Our local grain elevator is on fire. I heard the fire department head out. No power in town at all. I hope no one was hurt.
I was unable to join the protests today due to illness but hope we all stay safe today.
Lent my niece my Explorer for the weekend. Even with gas prices so high, it was cheaper for her to drive it a half hour to where she lives and use it for work (she has 2 jobs) and errands rather than to use Uber. Fortunately she's getting a starter for her car this coming week.
The only ice i want in my beautiful state of Minnesota is on the lakes and in our drinks.

My mom and I bought a vacuum sealer. So far I've sealed dill, diced bell peppers and corn. I've got new potatoes and carrots waiting their turn. I have also perfected my pickling recipe.

Put together a vanity and what i have come away from that experience is that I really need Allan wrench drill bits. My hands can't take manual tools anymore.
Tonks had her abscess lanced and rinsed today. Her abscess was caused by a bad tooth. The tooth was not removed because they weren't set up for an extraction so she'll have that pulled at a later date. Blood work showed she is a healthy cat other than the tooth. Now, for listening enjoyment:
Tonks is being such a good girl. She was vocal the whole time she's was in the carrier. I am surprised to find out she only weighs 12 pounds. So a bit overweight but not horribly so.
So tomorrow is the vet appointment. Either I'll be able to pay for it in full or I'll be setting up a gofundme and seeing how many people like me.
Her cheek has gone down quite a bit. She kept itching at it, so I think she caused the abscess to drain a bit. Still patiently waiting for Thursday to arrive so I can get her checked out and put on antibiotics.
I believe my girl Tonks has an infection or abscess. Her cheek is swollen. Made an appointment with a vet, but can't get her in until Thursday. Fortunately I have some money put away and I get paid Thursday so I shouldn't have an issue paying, but I have family and friends offer to help in case.
For the record, we have a wonderful coffee shop (an area chain) across town that's open until 1 on Sundays. Why she had to bother us with this ridiculous request is beyond me.
Customer my coworker had today was demanding for a barista to make her an iced coffee. We're a small gas station/convenience store. We offer deep fried food and coffee that will dissolve a spoon. But sure, we'll pull a barista out of thin air to make you an iced coffee.🤦🏼♀️
Little update. The suspect is from Oklahoma and apparently was quite upset that he couldn't bring his precious firearm into Canada.
And helicopters! I forgot about the helicopters. Things like this very rarely happen, so I forgot about the copters.
Some excitement in the area today. Some guy blew through the Canada-US border and took the border, highway and county patrols on a high speed chase. He shot at a couple of our deputies. Pursuit ended in Crookston. Suspect was shot in the leg and caught. What a Monday!
Can't beat chili and cornbread on a cold and windy Saturday.
