France 🇫🇷 doubles electrification support to €10bn/year through 2030 — EVs, heat pumps, industry.
The reason?

The Strait of Hormuz crisis making fossil fuel dependence impossible to ignore.

Geopolitical shocks don’t just raise prices. They change what’s politically possible.

French Prime Minister announced a ban on installing gas heating systems "by year's end" in new buildings, including multi-unit housing, to curb dependence on fossil fuels.
Biz will get aid for electric vans and trucks, up to €100,000 – including cargo bikes.

This is the massive turnout for last night’s “anti regime” concert in Heroes Square, Budapest, ahead of tomorrow’s crucial Hungarian elections. Tens of thousands chanted “Russians go home”. #Orban

Fair point. For sure the real story is what is behind the rise. Not just who and why, but how. The tactics involved in radicalising huge swathes of people is really what needs to be exposed. Ordinary people are being influenced and divided by carefully curated algorithms. Like lambs to slaughter.

The rise of the far right is a real political issue. Whatever money is behind Steen is dangerous, we've watched it in US and UK it was all an insignificant joke back in 2016, and now where are we. Its not the clowns like Trump and Farage to watch out for its the money behind them.

Ecosia - the search engine that plants trees Ecosia uses 100% of its profits for the planet and produces enough renewable energy to power all searches twice over.

No longer an emergency, but still a pandemic.

More flights, more emissions.

My letter to the editor in today’s Irish Times.

The media continues to offer free PR to high-emission industries such as aviation. This has to stop if we are to get serious about climate action.

“Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last two hundred years. Reducing greenhouse gases requires honesty, courage and responsibility. Those who will have to suffer the consequences will not forget this failure of conscience and responsibility.” — Pope Francis

I know complaining about Katy Perry in “space” is low hanging fruit and there are much worse things happening in the world, but there’s just something so peak… shallow and smarmy… bread and circuses… about it that typifies everything wrong with a system that serves only the shallow and the rich

Right. Climate realism would be the realization that the cavalry isn't coming to save anyone's comfy, wasteful lifestyle. Techno Fairy Dust & Magic Beans aren't going to rescue modernity. Learn to live with less now because there will be no choice later.
