This link is also updated frequently, but it does go by cancellations and closures sent to WDIO. I recommend calling in advance if you plan on going somewhere. I was going to take Loon to doggie boarding today, but that was closed.

Here's the latest road information from the City of Duluth:

As the city provides more updates, we'll put them in this web story.
You can always use this interactive radar to see where the heaviest snow is at any moment:

The winds are BRUTAL today. I went on a longer morning walk than usual and definitely don't recommend doing so 😅
I think I just need to air my apartment out some more. Glad I'll have another nice day tomorrow!
Yeahhhhh so that was quickly forgotten about. My b 😂
Forecast for a mid-week snowstorm in the Northland
Lately, it's been warm, but that's a false alarm. This week, a Colorado Low will bring us plenty of snow.
I have a pup named Loon, who can be a bit of a goon. She went after a skunk, and then we both stunk.
I stayed home for the sake of everyone's nose. Justin will fill in - the weather is something he knows.
She's not able to be taken to a groomer. I've tried a few. I have to give her trazodone and take her to the vet just to get her nails done. She won't let me near her nails but thankfully lets me bathe her
I'm hoping to not have to throw away the clothes. I was wearing the jacket that is in my profile pic and love that jacket 😬
Any advice on how to get the smell of skunk out of a dog, an apartment, clothes, and myself? 🥴
We did a story with WDIO on Watkins, Snotty, and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. Sabrina did an amazing job putting it together and honestly it made me cry a bit because of how much this means to me.

Even in sub-zero temperatures, working people brought the heat today in Minnesota!
Tens of thousands of people peacefully protested and made their voices heard to stand up for our immigrant siblings.
This is what solidarity looks like!
As I procrastinate going outside, today's Weather Word of the Day is "gelid." @merriam-webster.com defines gelid in two ways. The weather-related definition is, "as in icy: having a low or subnormal temperature."
No amount of layers will be enough to face the gelid air outside my door.
"Frost crack" is the technical term for what some refer to as "exploding trees."
Trees don't actually explode but can have dramatic cracks or even trunk splits, accompanied by loud, cracking sounds. This is a rare phenomenon that usually involves sudden, extreme temperature drops.
Today's Weather Word of the Day is "acclimatization," also called "acclimation." This is the process by which a living organism becomes adapted to a change in climatic environment.
For example, I'm from Florida and have acclimated to Minnesota enough for 10 °F to feel "not too bad."
For today, I'll include a photo with the Weather Word of the Day. Corina Marlowe sent photos of this morning's sundog in Hinckley.
Sundogs are caused by the refraction of light through ice crystals. More info:

Today's word is "foxy," an old-fashioned term that describes clear skies with deceivingly cold temperatures. The sunshine appears warm but tricks you, like a sly fox.
I'm getting bored with running out of ways to talk about how cold it is this week. A viewer suggested I come up with ways to say it in other languages. That gave me an idea for a new BlueSky thread: Duluth Weather Word of the Day
A famous photograph taken in April 2000 during a federal raid in Miami connected to the custody and immigration case of a six-year-old Cuban boy whose situation had become an international political dispute between the United States and Cuba. The image shows armed federal agents entering a private home to seize the child, who is being held by a relative inside a closet.
This picture was taken in 2000 by an Associated Press photographer who was allowed to be present as an observer. ICE now keeps press blocks away from the areas where they are operating. One of the first actions ICE takes during a raid is to confiscate phones.
Trump sent thousands of armed federal officers into our state, and it took just one day for them to kill someone.
Now he wants nothing more than to see chaos distract from that horrific action.
Don’t give him what he wants.
Loon was fine crossing the Swinging Bridge at Jay Cooke Park the first time we went across. On the way back, we "paws-ed" for a photo, and when I lifted her up, she realized we were high up. It took a lot of positive encouragement to get her to finish crossing the bridge 😂
Happy Hanukkah! I think it's beautiful that the eighth night fell on the Winter Solstice, the darkest (shortest) day of the year.
This tag caught me off-guard 😂. Happy night two of Hanukkah!
I've been looking forward to Spotify Wrapped for over a month! I have yet to see a single one with more minutes than mine, though I think it's less than last year. Does anyone have me beat?
So glad to have snow on the ground!
Thankful for this little brat. Happy Thanksgiving!
