I’ve contributed to several open-source projects by submitting issues and pull requests, and naturally, not all of them were accepted. That’s never bothered me, since the projects aren’t mine, and it’s up to the maintainers to decide what works best for their software.

Everyone should know that contributing to OSS doesn’t mean your ideas or fixes will automatically be merged — it’s a basic expectation people should learn early.
